BERFAB wrote:I must say that the new combi patches really are my favorite thing about ST2.5. I've said it here before, but it really is like getting a whole new synth, considering that many new synths only come with a couple hundred patches. The new ST2.5 comes with 200 brand-spankin' new combi's.

And NOW, Squids and Co. are just piling 'em on for us SS2 owners too. Pretty sweet. :tu: Especially since SS2 is still (I think) one of the largest single repositories of vintage synth samples. No one is programming new patches for any of these old synths anymore, 'cept for our buddy Squidsy. And no-one ever combined the sounds from all of these classic machines together to create new patches. Very cool. 8)

I DO love surprises...

I have to add I LOVE the new combis in 2.5 as well. I haven't had time to go through all of them, but I will, as soon as I have a day off from work.

Really looking forward to these new combis. I used to drool over the huge keyboard rigs of guys like Emerson, Wakeman, & Downs, and SS2 is kind of like having all that gear at hand; but it doesn't take up all the space! :) Looking forward to Samplemoog & Sampletron, as well.
Then you will like the Keith Emerson Studio ProFile title we're working on perhaps! ;) Samples of his Modular Moog, Hammond and GX-1. I have it on my hard drive. Sounds great! Sonic Reality helped Keith stay in the US as a foreigner actually through some projects we're working on with him. I never mentioned that before. Cool huh?

On the combis... boy do I have combis to unleash here for ST2.5 I have been WAITING for the features of ST2.5 to be released so I could do combis that use the effects this way (a set of inserts for the entire module and send effects for things like reverb). So here's what we have coming:

1. Bonus Disc with a full set of samples (many previously unreleased) that has 25 combis on it ($99. or FREE if you purchase SampleTank 2.5XL from www.esoundz.com -just for the launch period which ends at the end of next month).

2. NEW SS2 combis for SS2 -AND- enhanced for SampleTank 2.5! These will be for sale as a download product on www.esoundz.com but will be given FREE to anyone has purchased their SampleTank and Sonik Synth 2 from esoundz (we'll also give away some for free to go to everyone as well from this batch)

3. Hundreds of new SampleTank 2.5XL Combis (not referencing the bonus disc but the XL sounds themselves). Some of these will be free for everyone, even more will be free for anyone who has in the past or is currently purchasing SampleTank from www.esoundz.com (starting to see some of the benefits of purchasing your products from esoundz yet? What other store does this I ask you!? Haha). Then, there will also be some more that are available for purchase by anyone.

Plus, there's more coming. SampleMoog will begin pre-order some time in the next week or so. You can technically pre-order it now though if you want it. Just email sales@esoundz.com and they can set you up to do that. It's just not public yet but it's actually ready to be pre-ordered in the system. If you pre-order SampleMoog from esoundz you get a downloadable set of extra patches for it that are exclusively available only from esoundz

I'm going to be drooling all day at work; do you realize what a slipping hazard zinc oxide can be when mixed with water? My work area won't be safe! How do you keep coming up with these must-have products?

Inform me Squids,

These Combi's are important.

What do you want to know?

I'll tell you some things for starters. Talking about the Bonus Disc combis, these are combis that reference the sounds ON the bonus disc. There's a mix of orchestral and ethnic sounds on there plus this Studiophonik Outtake drum kit. The drum kit is a Beatles kit basically. A Keystone badge 60's Ludwig and you can mix between direct and room. On SPK you do have samples of this kit but they are different samples and you have Overheads instead of the Room so this one is more ambient. I like BOTH but I had to trim some of the fat oh SPK (Studiophonik) because it was overloaded with stuff (hence its delay... also we were waiting for the SampleTank 2.5 engine but part of the reason it can also be at a lower price than initially planned is because of this trimming down the size thing... maybe some day we'll do a Studiophonik Deluxe version if it is popular though because we DO have the material!).

So, the combis for this kit are pretty awesome. One of my favorite things is the fact that you can have a separate part for kick, snare, toms, hi hat, cymbals. In this particular kit the kick and toms are in one part (like a set). But, anyway, you have all of these parts that can go through ONE set of inserts on the master output. This way you can compress the whole kit again like you can with kits we've made all in one part. The compression and tons of other processing models in ST are one of the main things that sets it apart from other products out there because the kits can sound PRODUCED but you have the flexibility to produce it yourself all within the module. When I say "Produced" I mean that it has more STYLE to it because of the processing whether that's for Rock, Hard Rock, Hip Hop, Funk, Drum n Bass or other styles that can be made ALL from the same original sampled drum kit (this one is an example of that). But, the other benefit here (which you won't see until you get something like Studiophonik) is that you can swap out drum instrument parts to customize your OWN kit. The reason you won't see it here is you only have ONE kit from Studiophonik's cutting room floor. When you combine that with all of the various hi hats, cymbals, snares, kicks & toms from Studiophonik you can make custom kit combinations galore! So, get ready for that. It's going to be cool!

While most of the combis on the bonus disc are for that super sweet drum kit, the other ones in there are also very inspiring orchestral combis and global inventions. Things like strings with woodwinds and then a tremolo string fades in with this moody atmosphere washed in the new CSReverb but as a pre-fader send... I took advantage of some of the new features so anyone who gets the bonus disc could follow along with some tips and tricks I am going to do here on the forum to go along with it.

By the way, you CAN get a download link for it if you simply just go buy it. Just email sales@esoundz.com after you bought it and ask for a download instead as I described above -OR- you can wait until some time this week and we'll have the download option on that (plus tons of other products). There's a little surprise in the works there for downloadable sounds. ;)

Next I will talk about the SS2 combis which were mostly made by Kurzweil guru Larry Hopkins. He's programmed for East West, Spectrasonics and all sorts of diffferent companies over the years. I've known him for a long time so I asked him to do some combis for the next Sonik Synth. But, since I have them already you get an advanced taste of what's to come in future updates that we're working on. The biggest thing is that if you have SampleTank 2.5 then you get the advanced benefits of the new enginer NOW which eventually SS2 will have some of (like the master and send effects for example).

More info coming...

My apologies for sounding a bit harsh...I understand you guys got alot on your plate, and I get a bit irritable too easy.

I attempted to order the bonus disk last night, but canceled when I couldn't find the download version as well.
Honestly, we're the last company to want to accept losing any customers because we work so hard to please as many people as possible. But, we also don't do things just to do them or rush them out the door because of a deadline. Deadlines sometimes need to be extended if it is better for everyone in the long run. But, it's a balance.

Speaking of balance, anyone who frequently shops at www.esoundz.com knows that we have the right philosophy about making up for any possible mistake that can happen whether it is on the customer's end or ours. We treat our customers like I would want to be treated... with generosity, appreciation, respect and consideration.

So, I hope we are able to keep you coming back to esoundz.

Anyone who orders it here:

http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=1662

Can email sales@esoundz.com and ask for the download link. The download link will eventually be put into the product page but you can still get it instead of having it shipped. If you pay shipping and ask for the download link then we can refund the shipping or give you double in epointz (say Squids said on the forum and you'll be good on that offer of double your shipping back in epointz... at least until it is available from the site itself as a download).
Cool! Ordering it now :) And appreciate the double epointz offer, you guys are the best!

Cheers,

SK

Hey Squids

Just for the record, can you outline what's on the bonus disc, the earlier post is a bit confusing. It seems like Jazzy_V and I are early adopters and I wanted to check my download against what is supposed to be in there. It's nice to have some midi files for the new drum stuff, thanks alot.

I'll go over the Bonus Disc next week. This week I will be traveling with Genesis. Also, anyone going to the New York and New Jersey shows you should listen for the cover I did of "Keep it Dark" with Simon Collins (Phil's son). Simon is getting the sound guy to play it before the band goes on. Shhhh. ;) (hey, it would have been cooler to open for them but it's better than nothing!)

For anyone who hasn't heard that and is interested in checking it out there's a free download of it here: http://www.keepitdark.net You have to put in your email address to get it is all.

By the way, SampleMoog Pre-Orders are open on esoundz. http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=1661

I wondered that too. What is there is good - although, I already have Omnisynth and the Bonus World Instruments as they were in the world instruments group buy a couple of years back - but I was perhaps expecting a bit more in regards to newer libraries or unreleased sounds.

The drum stuff is indeed nice though :D

Couldn't see the 25 combi's anywhere either ?

The wrong one was uploaded I think so check with sales@esoundz.com for a new download link with the Combis.

The main unreleased stuff is the drum kit and the beats with midi/slices. The Omni, Miro and World sounds are only new to people that don't have those things. IF you bought 2 out of those three things from esoundz though and you bought the bonus disc just ask Allen to give you a little bag of epointz. ;) I'll give him a head's up on that. The MAIN purpose of this bonus disc is as an incentive for people to buy the full SampleTank 2.5XL or Upgrade from www.esoundz.com since they get the bonus disc for free. But we wanted to offer it for sale as well for anyone else. I think it's a fair deal for what it is anyway (a full disc of ST sounds) but I can see if you have Miro, Omni and you participated in the World GB how you would have wanted other sounds... so use a handful of extra epointz then for other stuff then! Easy.
