Hi guyz and especially girls;-)!

Im seeking for a chart of guitar chords, which sounds nice in combination.
But not just a combi of 3 (for example G-C-D) chords. I don't know how such a chart is called - sorry!

Maybe there is someone out who know what i mean and can help me.

thanks in advance!

Me thinks it doesn't exist. It's too complex, and depends on taste/context/targeted effect.

Thanks for the link nuffink. Great website. I love his link to the Beatles articles which analyze their songs' progressions!
Cheers,

There is geometry in the humming of the strings, there is music in the spacing of the spheres. Pythagoras

I'd make that a P-minor

[flame suit on]Maybe instead of wasting the world's time using someone else's progressions, you could do some experimenting and come up with something original, something that says, "I'm not just a loser who wants to 'make' music". I wish there were a nicer way to say that, but IMO there's already all too much molly coddling patronizing everyone to encourage them to do something for which they are entirely unsuitable for. The world is full of that kind of noise already, in my less than humble opinion. If you haven't got a mind to do some experimenting to find your own voice, then don't speak, for you haven't got a mind, and you're nothing more than a glorified parrot. It is the responsibility of an artist to help raise the consciousness of their audience.

Good luck with your experiments. I look forward to hearing them.

ok guyz thanks.

Is there nowhere a kind of stencil on the internet, where one can paste a chord (maybe Am) and the stencil shows a lot of different chords for different styles?

Experiment, Kaufi. Use your keyboard for that. Taking an unknown instrument is great if you lack inspiration.

Start with a simple chord: right hand plays three notes not too far apart, and left hand plays the bass note (thumb and pinky an octave apart) that fits. Now change one or two notes on the right hand, going up or down, and find the proper bass note that goes along with it.

You'll find what works and what doesn't... Endless possibilities!!

Next step is ofcourse writing your own lyrics

Some of my favorite chords cliches that go well with Am:

- Plain old 3-chord song: Am Dm E (or E7)

- Ethnic, Gypsy: Am Dm Em

- Medieval: Am D Em (arpeggios go well here)

- Reggae: Am G

- Cliche Spanish progression: Am G F E

Hope this helps... these are good starting points for exploration in my limited experience.
