For five years I have been a producer of various genres but mainly writing for fun using virtual tools and no hardware; It is how I learned and started. Since the very beginning however I have lusted after old analog warhorses and likewise gear but it was more like a "schoolboy crush" than a real love of hardware seeing as I knew nothing of connections and signal paths and how to connect them. But as of late I have been seeing a reemergence in hardware that has made me seriously consider buying a piece of gear, probably something budget friendly like a micron or an SH-201; virtual analog modeling synths(I am buying an analog mono synth in a few months but that is another story altogether)

My basic questions are these: (Keep in mind I live in a city devoid of hardware synthesizers to personally test but oddly enough the place is overflowing with vintage organs /:)

1. On modern day synths I see many have presets and patch saving capabilities. How do presets work on a synth with knobs and sliders? Is the eternal "mechanics" capable of changing button and slider placements when selecting presets without the human element involved?

2. What kind of card ins/outs does one need with a modern synth?

3. Will women get turned on by a small table top mono synth the same as with an 88 key workstation?!

Thanks
Rob

1 usully not, they are latch style
2 any card with at least a stereo in (1/4 prefered, balanced is better)
