In another thread Charlie wrote:Jamstix2 does not play nicely with XT2, no transport and lots of graphical glitches. Post on rayzoon suggested it was an issue with XT2. Works great with XT1.

After a long time I wanted to try out the XT2 VSTi again in REAPER, to see how useful its drum track could be. At the 'add drum track' command the whole thing froze...

So, still the same story, more than two months after 'the official release'...

I find it pretty incredible how disappointing XT2 is... cause WHAT is the use of such a buggy release? I don't get that & really wonder how do XT diehards cope with this. I for one will simply stop using it till I know for sure that I can run it without crashes, freezes and frustrations.

I wish jorgen would have continued 1.4's development! Such a beautiful piece of software in many respects. Why didn't he? And PLEASE don't tell me I can still use 1.4 cause I very well know I can. It's like defending a totally crappy album by saying that one could always listen to a great album that came out some years ago... which is both true and very silly

edit/ sorry wrong xt vst thread...

I have a small issue with Firebird+ V1.8 where it does'nt hide the keyboard in the gui when i disable it in Firebird+.

In XT 1.4 it works fine but not in XT 2 :help:

This bug is confirmed by 2 other XT users also.

DR-008 - Pad B5 is being constantly modulated - no biggie I guess, still got the other 90 odd pads.

ABL/ABL2 - tuning is f**ked, the actual 'tuning' knob is set at the the wrong value and I cannot seem to correct it.

They confirm that AmpliTube2 does not handle MIDI at all.
Umm... I'm confused. I mean you can automate everything of Amplitube Live in Sonar and I thought it is midi data the automation is sending to it or am I completely wrong?...

Post

Yes, you can automate all the AmpliTube parameters in eXT or XT2. Any CC messages that are used for automation are intercepted and are not sent to the VST itself.

But any other MIDI CC messages would still be sent to AmpliTube and it will then crash.

So if you use automation and make sure no other MIDI is sent you'll be Ok.

PS If you are using AmpliTube as an FX on a MIDI track with a VSTi then the MIDI track's notes are sent to the AmpliTube and it will then crash. [In eXT1 you can turn off "Send MIDI to Insert2 but then the automation will not get through either.]

Thanks, it's good to know. :)

Overall I'm very happy with Amplitube live, it arrived last week and sounds very good. I also got another problem, I'll quote my own earlier post:
GPO Personal Orchestra

I get stuck notes when trying to add another sound to the player. It works ok when I use just one midi channel, f.ex piano at midi channel 1, but when I add/load another sound (f.ex flute) to midi channel 2 the second sound (flute) has stuck notes.

Obviously it is possible to load a new GPO player for every sound but that feels a bit waste of resourses.

The bug is still there in the latest XT2 Nov.18 release with Firebird+ 1.9.
It even crashes sometimes now which it did'nt do in the beta before this release.
