Just curious, what ever happened to your "phase-reduced" cutting filter? Will we see it in Electri-Q 2?

Sure

But what filter do you mean in particular? The one already built in in Electri-Q v1 (which was in fact a trial and error approach) or the one I mentioned in combination with Rubberfilter?

The first one has a linear phase behaviour above a certain frequency and minimum phase behaviour below. The filter I mentioned here was a butterworth filter with some 'reversed' elements. The problem - as always here - is that you either get a long latency, or you have to bend the space-time continuum.

A slightly other solution would be to use a higher order bessel filter. However those tend to make numerical problems. So one need to precalculate the values for it. I've already done that for some higher orders (6th order work fine, and 8th order is yet untested). I have a textbook right beside me with coefficients for up to 10th order, but they are rounded to only four digits (which makes it a bit poor for low frequencies). Also I'd need it for up to 64th order filters to compete with the current Rubberfilter.

But again, this will lead to latency

Latency is not really a problem if one uses the filter as a "tool" for offline processing. Even latencies up to around 1 second (Algorithmix.. well, not 1 second but incredibly long) shouldn't be a problem when offline is the main idea for batch processing etc.

At least the trick I use won't make it heavy on CPU, the longer you want to go linear phase. It will always be around 1.5x as much as with normal minimum phase processing. If only I had some more time...

Why no version numbers? I would also prefer an installer-less release for maximum comfort.

Rubberfilter.exe is a self-extracting exe-file. You can extract RubberFilter.dll and Rubberfilter Manual.pdf directly using 7-zip

Well, we have been through this already. At the previous page you'll find the installerless link as well.

No version numbers, because there will be no further version. It's as simple as that. So no version numbers needed.

Why is this topic bumped again? Did you update a newer version, or fix any bugs, etc? I ask this because this is one of my favorite and most used plug-ins, thanks to Mr.Budde.

You made me think, whether it actually _is_ useful to add a version info to the plugin.
I uploaded the plugin as installer / zip again.
Other changes:
- knobs are more robust against too rapid mouse movements (In some rare conditions it happened that the mode was switched accidentially on rapid mouse movements)

Great Plug-In!

The possibilities with this tool are endless.

I don't know if this was addressed (Didn't read the all the replies) but, there is an overshoot when you are gradually reducing the dB levels from 114 - 168 @ 20 Hertz.

The processing power is very managable. I tried it on a 400 MHZ CPU and didn't experience any fluttering due to lack of processing power. I can only imagine how lite this will be once I put it on my Pentium 4 2.8 GHZ

it's awesome. the steeepest filter there is. (but i still hope for a bugpass fix for xt cos that was bettere for just vertical cut on the master with hardly no cpu hit)

Rubberfilter - extreme filter with up to 384dB/Oct!
