Hi

In the space of a few days, I learned about Doru Malaia's excellent and incredibly good value products, and of his tragic demise. I don't know how to describe the feeling of sadness and unease that this has produced.

Yet I read somewhere that Mr Malaia's CDs are still available for purchase. I've tried emailing Mrs Malaia and Mr Malaia's associate, but got no answer so far.

Has anybody bought any of the DVDs recently? Is it still possible? I'd really love to have his ethnic percussions set, notably.

I bought his Superdrums 8000 a few months ago. Got it within a few days!

Right then, since one poster [edit: who is no longer present in the posts above] can't read (or heed) warnings, lock time. I made a couple of patches for my V-Synth (and NI Vokator ages ago) using his lovely Michaela samples.

i will admit im biased, to me he wasnt a sample guy, he was a friend who happened to sell samples. i met him online long before i even joined kvr and found him to be a really nice bloke, if at times a little full on

but it was his excitement about everything and his childlike fascination with music of all kinds that endeered him to me as a friend.

his samples are good quality too, and the work he and his friends put into collating all those discs was pretty immense considering what they cost us, the user.
they may not meet everyones needs but these days what does?

Mahtazz, thanks for the link; I 'd already seen this actually ,and have sent emails to the addresses provided to ask if it is still possilbe to order. So far I haven't received an answer, but maybe it is a question of time.
