I'm excited about SampleMoog. I will get it, but right now, after the recent GB and Sonar update, I've gone over budget.
I dont know if it's appropriate to point this out, but the price for the preorder is the same, whether I'm signed in or not, and I'm a platinum member.

Because we sell worldwide, and because the Dollars is going down every month, we are now required by some manufacturers only to apply a different prices to Europe.
We display a EUR translation for reference, but we still charge in USD because we are an USA company...
This double price system is only set for these specific manufacturers. All our products for example still have the same low price and you can take advantage of the low Dollars as much as you want!
Plus, we always try to have 'something more' like free sounds, free patches. And we ship fast, we have a good membership system, our support is the best on the planet!

Ok, now that's perfectly clear language.
Solved, thanks.
Double thanks to nikko, as the rebate wasn't showing indeed, and is fixed now.
Pointz did go to harmony gardens this time, hope it helps you getting this soon.

Glad that's solved then! Yeah, I don't think that any price changes should really affect any silver, gold and platinum members (for those that don't know, your level of membership automatically increases at www.esoundz.com the more you buy there). It's mainly for new customers shopping around for the best price. Sometimes esoundz DOES have the best price around or exclusive products that no one else has. But, whenever it doesn't have the best price it makes up for it by having some exclusive extras, free International Shipping, fast response times and quality customer support, epointz ($5 credit for referals to the site on orders) and all sorts of things. At the end it always adds up to the best place to buy.
Any dealer can compete by advertising a lower price. But there are regional implied "MAP" (minimum advertising prices) to respect if you want to sell there and be fair. That's why the added value concept works for us because it is something ANY dealere COULD do if they wanted to. But, most dealers concentrate on selling a much much wider range of products from different companies and can't necessarily focus so specifically on products from SR, IK and the others. In fact, I wish they WOULD! Esoundz is really like an example of what a company like Sonic Reality would like dealers to do in terms of stocking a massive variety of sounds in a wide range of formats. But, since that doesn't happen anywhere near to this extent, esoundz exists to focus on sounds and software specifically. If you LIKE sounds and software then you can get more for your money than any other store in the world!

Dave ...
Please explain to me why your plug sounds better than a softsynth version.
It's a genuine question. I'd like to know.

This question was for Dave but, let's tell something about Samplemoog...
I've spent a tremendous time to create presets for Samplemoog and here is what I have to say about its sounds.
- first no Virtual Emulation of a Moog Synthesizer come even close to what the real gear sounds. It is easy to verify, just open the filter, and remove any artifacts, connect a scope and see the wav form. The Moog Sine is no way a pure sine, same for saw. And worse, when you play different notes, the wav form does not have a constant shape! So the only way to really have the Moog sound, with no marketing blabla or endorsement statements, it is to sample it.
- In Samplemoog you have 16 different Moog gears already sampled... try to find them on eBay, connect them with a MIDI interface? Personnaly I would rather buy Samplemoog.
- I've got several Moog myself, and it is a pain in the .ss to program them. Doing good sounds is really complicated and takes a lot of time. In Samplemoog, Dave has used his expertise to sample really good sounds so you don't have to spend hours testing! Most good Moog sounds are sampled and ready to use.
- The Moog sound is not everything, most Moog users compress, pass the sound in pedals, or Fx to get something even better. Moog synthsizers are like guitars, they sounds great when processed too. With Samplemoog you can use the great Sampletank 2.5 new FX like, Drive, Phazer, Chorus, Reverbs, Ambiance, Cabinet, EQ and more, to sculpt your sounds.
After having spent hours on this plug-in I must say that it has something that most other plugin does not have.
- some sounds are rough, harsh, strong like coming out from the real synthesizer. Remove all Fx and you have the real dirty sound from the Moog gear, some sounds are a little out of tune that's sounds really vintage!
- some other sounds are highly processed, with evolving textures and pads. They are immediately usable in Dance, Trance production and they sounds really analog.
- some basses can explode your subwoofer and makes this plug the best for doing Urban, Rap, or Techno music. These basses sounds really boomy, with some warm you find only in Studio Electronics and Moog gears. in the mix, I've tried to find something similar with Trilogy for example, no way.
- it sounds closer to the real Moog sound, because it is based on samples and has not the polished sound that all the virtual plugs have. Mr Oiso, Air, Bob Sainclar, Daft Punk do NOT uses plug-ins when it is time to have very special sound...
- some sounds seems to be coming directly from a Klaus Schultze, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis , Rick Wakeman, or Pink Floyd early times albums, wow, I love these sounds...
Enjoy Samplemoog

This is a good question. There are advantages/disadvantages of both. The biggest advantage of an emulation plug such as those from Arturia or GMedia are that the synth architecture is duplicated of a specific synth like a Minimoog. It looks and acts like a Minimoog to the best of their programming abilities and I think in that case both companies did a very good job! But... but, my personal Minimoog still DOES sound better! So, having SAMPLED RECORDINGS of an actual Minimoog is very close to the real thing but it is a recording OF the real thing! It captures the sound of that analog beast and then you can do some nice subtractive synthesis as well as DSP processing in the ST engine. Certain things have been tailored in the ST engine to be more Moog-like such as the filter, portamento curves, legato note priority and things like that.kevvvvv wrote:Dave ...

It's a genuine question. I'd like to know.
If you are making a patch from scratch you can create patches more like you would on a real Minimoog with an emulation. Hey, I have them too and they're fun! I really love Arturia's virtual analog synth plug-ins even if they don't always sound exactly like the original they still sound good! (for instance, their Prophet is ballsier than the original Prophet... but like that's a bad thing? Haha. However, my real Prophet 5 still has its own sound much in the same way and my samples of the Prophet capture the essence more precisely).
So, in the end it is a trade off. You get a more authentic sound from SampleMoog than any other Moog-themed plug-in. But you don't have the same flexibility of making your own patches the same way you would with an emulation plug. However, the irony is that you get so much MORE in an advanced synth engine like this... I mean, the sheer amount of inspiring patches you could make goes on much further than say the amount of patches I can make straight on my Moog Voyager as it is being monophonic and having no built-in effects.
But, besides the whole authenticity factor there's also the variety factor. SampleMoog not only gets you the sound of a Minimoog but it gets you the sound of a VARIETY of Minimoog such as a Model D, a MuSonics Mini (that's the one I have with clear wheels), an RA Moog and a Minimoog Voyager. Those all sound a little different from each other so I personally wanted to capture sounds of DIFFERENT Minis. But, beyond that you have sounds from Moog synths that have yet to be modeled and may likely never be such as the Memorymoog, Polymoog, Taurus I Pedals and so many more.
If you like vintage analog synths like Moogs this is a cool one to have! Even you already have some emulation plug-ins, this is different. It's worth it just for the bass sound of the Taurus Pedals alone because that is such a distinct character sound and such a useful one to have for styles of music ranging from hip hop to progressive rock to electronic. Samples of that are particularly great because the original was hard to play as just pedals and that sound never was available from a keyboard... unless it was sampled as it is in this product.
