How about (if it's not already possible in some way) the option to additionally show the original gui (if existant) either on the left/right/top or bottom of the mgui panel. This would make it not only a replacement gui but also an extension to an already exisiting one (could be realized with auto-resize or something along those lines maybe) ;)
Just a silly idea while browsing this forum though

It is already possible to additionally show the original gui, using the "Template_GUI" Ini-template ...

Asseca, all of this is absolutely great, and I'm planning to make extensive use of it... when I figure out how. No offense meant, of course, but I find the documentation fairly heavy going. Mind you, I'm not a newbie in the VST and MIDI world, and I'm proficient in several programming languages, so technical docs generally hold no terrors for me. Having considerable code-writing experience I am thoroughly familiar with the phenomenon that what is perfectly clear to a software author, may be obscure or even incomprehensible to outsiders.

One thing that I would find immensely useful is a step-by-step tutorial-by-example describing the whole process from a raw gui-less plugin to the final result. I am sure I'm not alone in feeling this way. Of course, this is not a demand, just a humble suggestion. I just hope somebody takes it up. :)

In any case, keep up the great work; we are all indebted to you and your efforts. In the meantime, I'll keep trying to figure those docs out...

I agree the mGUI documentation is a kind of "Reference Manual" which most probably only be tackled by the "bravehearted" ... ;-)

The easiest and quickest method to learn mGUI is by downloading the examples on the mGUI WIKI ...

I have place some primitive tutorials in Asseca forum

Asseca, those tutorials really help.
:)

I haven't been able to show an existing plugin GUI with Template_GUI. I must be missing something. Any suggestions?

I have just placed a small tutorial how to wrap a plugin with GUI (e.g. lazysnake), see: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27#2751027
