Hi
I have Soundcraft Spirit Folio mixer !0 channels. I would really like to connect it so I can hear in my headphones without any "delay" what I am recording. Thankful for any help.

The easiest way:
* Connect Main out of the mixer to the inputs of your soundcard
* Connect outputs of your soundcard to Tape Return of the mixer
* Make sure button "Tape Return to Monitor" on the mixer is engaged
* Make sure button "Tape Return to Mix" on the mixer is disengaged
* Make sure that monitoring of inputs in your host and soundcard's control panel is disabled

Ok, I hear it now in the headphones, great. But how do I connect the mixer now with my amplifier. Do I use the mix? Thanks for taking the time.

The monitors out should be to the amp, I guess? Had these connected to the soundcard.

If you use the MNTR outputs you'll get whatever is on your cans on your amp also, while the MIX outputs are to be recorded (they have only your channel inputs and not what's returned by the computer, since the button controlling that is supposed to be set off)

I get sound from the amp only if I disconnect the phones plug. There is also something called MIXIST.

I'd say that's a nice feature! Wished my Mackie mixer did thatpgvpgv333 wrote:I get sound from the amp only if I disconnect the phones plug.
Do you really need both at the same time?
That's to insert an effect (like compressor / limiter / eq) on the whole mix.pgvpgv333 wrote:There is also something called MIXIST.
