"but do you have ANY idea how long this will take ad ?"
i hope i'll get around to it before december but it really depends upon what moods i get into. i do most of my coding during autumn and winter, with sometimes a bit in the spring. very little gets done in late summer - that should be easy to work out the reason for in your head if you think about it. i really cant say when it'll get done. i've been really thinking of uploading all the xhip source so everybody can help out a little and i'll definitely be doing this when me and gsoto start to work on implementing his gui.
it is just that i'm not too sure about the abilities of others in working on my code - i spend a lot of effort tweaking things to be "elegant". also, some parts really have yet to be tweaked and i'm not too keen on releasing code lacking elegance to the wild - i definitely do not need people questioning me on my code, imagine aquar, only on the code.
"I have failed you acidose."

in fact.. if anybody is interested:
http://xhip.cjb.net/xhip/src/
however i'll have you know that accessing the data linked from that page is not legal - you could only do so if the law does not apply to you. (please note tha, i am solely responsible for launching legal claims against those infringing on my rights. if i choose not to do so, no other consequence will result.)

HAHAHA. That's like "asking to spend some months in prison for no reason."
Anyway, still watching.

"asking to spend some months in prison for no reason." - i'm just saying all this to save my ass from potentially being legally harassed by somebody else. if you choose to access the files i'll probably not care and i'm the only one capable of handing out any consequences for such actions. if somebody were to access the files and then harass me legally however, i could point out the fact their access was illegal and in violation of certain laws in whatever countries, that would most likely make them leave me alone.
e.g., you might send me some kind of harassing notice about the files if you felt they infringed on your rights in some way - however - all i would need to do in order to comply would be to take down the files, afterward i could sue you for having illegally accessed them in the first place.

The analogy is meant to be like, sort of "come here and lock yourself in without a key!" kind of thing.
But anywho. Unless there was some asshole out there trying to take your years of hard work and charge you against that, I think there's nothing much to fear.
Um...I'll just test the recent alpha build now.

so i see a couple have grabbed the sources - if you put them to use let me know and we can discuss things. please keep it in private though. i'm not willing to help anyone out to get it working unless we talk about it first. the current way i have things configured in those archives only those with some skill should be even able to understand how to get started. if you dont have the skills i can help you, but like i said talk to me first. keep it in private because i do not want to be making this stuff public yet - if you've seen the source you'll understand that it isnt ready to go out into the wild.

Where are good patches for ADX?
If i load in old ones then always this error message appears:
"Load Failed! #4003 Unsupported ADXI version."
Ah okay forget it... it still saves not all parameters to the bank .... always unisono and transpose is missing etc.

Is that actually available as a gui for adxhip?gsoto wrote:http://gsotosite.googlepages.com/xhip02.gifLiquidclear wrote:Vertical sliders would be nice....
Actually, that one wins in style by far.
All controls on a single screen with vertical sliders is perfect IMHO, gives you a good visual picture of a patch.

"All controls on a single screen"
xhip has about 40 more controls since that.
it could be available but it would be much larger, if you want me to actually do that i can. or, you can get the source, do it yourself and send me the result.

aciddose: Yes that would be fantastic to have a single screen vertical slider version if possible thanks! Size not an issue, worth the sacrifice for the sound your synth produces
I'm not skilled enough to pursue the source code route...atm.

If that were the case, it'd be convenient for some people who find it too tiring to flip through pages.
Actually, yeah. Would that be even possible if some random decided to skin XHip as a single-page instead of the multi-page system, with how it's currently constructed?
Like, someone can make a skin, then the user can change between that skin that uses multi-pages, and the other one that uses just a single page.

i've designed the code to make this possible. anyone capable of working with c++ code can easily write a gui for xhip using the code i've made available. i'll include that and distribute it for the author under the conditions that:
1) the resulting code is released either to the public domain (only the parts you add) or to me
2) no external libraries are applied (in other words, you may only add code which you can hand over to me or release into the public domain. also i'd prefer to stick with the structure i already have, redesigning the whole thing from scratch doesnt make sense)
"Like, someone can make a skin, then the user can change between that skin that uses multi-pages, and the other one that uses just a single page."
that is what i've always had in mind. i could do it right now actually but you'd need to select the gui with an external application or by editing a config file. all i'd need to do is compile the 'editor' portion into a seperate dll - you could then select which dll is loaded on start up.
actually though it may be possible to allow dynamic loading of the gui dlls by working in an extra layer with a menu for this.
the 'gui' components would also be best put into a seperate dll which would allow the 'editors' to dynamically load that rather than having it statically linked.

if i could code, i would make myself a copy of xhip with that GUI, probably with a better layout, but essentially the same. funny thing is that i bitch to aciddose about it when it first came out... i'm such a hypocrite
