I need some sirens for a tune I'm putting together.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

Haven't found anything decent so far.

What sort of sirens? There are loads of different types like air raid sirens, police sirens, dub sirens, warning sirens, fire alarm sirens, the classic old school hip hop siren etc and they have very different sounds. Narrowing down the search a touch might help us to help you better.

If you're after dub type sirens there's RastaBox in the DC challenge and Dub Siren from interrupter. Both of which are VSTs rather than samples and are capable of quite a range of siren types.

For other siren types try these sample search sites:

http://www.findsounds.com/ISAPI/search.dll

http://www.audiofill.com/

There are plenty of sirens on those sites, hopefully something will be of use to you.

Come over to my house and you can record them live. I have a fire station a block away from my house. :D

I used to own a wah pedal that had a siren and a tornado function.

you can easily make a siren with a sine wave, and a little LFo... just fiddle with it, you will find it...
I used to think the internet was going to unite mankind. Now I realize the internet is perhaps mankinds greatest wasteland of bickering, greed, and narrow minds. " And we all shine on, " Imagine that.

Thanks for the information, links, and ideas.
I think it would be an ambulance or police car.
I have a tune "Flyin' Home to You (Sirenes on Full)" (working title, and yes I like to spell sirens sirenes - more fun that way).
The guitar-like patches I'm using already sound like sirenes, so maybe I don't really need a real siren, although it probably would add a lot to have one or two in the distant background during some of the release portions of the tune.
Thanks again.

Wish I had something portable to record the warning sirens around the North Anna nuclear power plant. They're stuck on poles at strategic places around the area, which is all rural. If you happen to be driving past when they go off for a test, even if your car windows are up you'll be scared to bits. LOUD! =>_<=

I suspect to record them properly you'd have to set up the mic half a mile from one of the siren clusters.

I'm about to have another caffeinated beverage and look for some gritty sirens. Gonna transform em into futuristic sirens (think Children Of Men or Half Life 2) for a new track I'm working on :)

Cheers for the links all!

Ain't nothin' like a real sirene.
