I did answer in this thread (at the time I didn't know) and the answer anyway is yes!janka wrote:I've asked this a couple of times before without any answer. Will SampleMoog behave like the real thing (like low note priority keyboards etc)?

Just how has the ST engine been tweaked? Different filter models? Something less obvious? The more I read, the more I REALLY want this product!Squids wrote: Well, first, the samples are different in SampleMoog than Sonik Synth 2 even if SS2 does have some samples of Moogs. I sampled a different Mini and Polymoog in Sonik Synth 2 than the ones in SampleMoog for example.
To answer your question, it really comes down to how much you like Moog synths! If you like the authentic sound of Moog Modulars, Taurus Pedals, Minimoogs, Memorymoog, Polymoog and everything else then for a few hundred bucks... why not? The engine HAS been tweaked for it to be more Moog-like specifically than say Sonik Synth 2 which is more generalized.
It's hard to say who really NEEDS it per se but I think it's more of a question of who wouldn't want it if you like Moog synths? It's a Moog Synth Anthology. It even has the Radioshack MG-1 in there for crying out loud (which was my first synth ever and I re-bought one not too long ago and I love that little thing!!!!).
It's pretty darn cool. But then again, that's why we did it! Ideally, anyone who gets all of the Sonik Instruments will have one serious keyboard/production set up. It's a set up I personally want to build for what I do. I was talking to Tony Banks about SampleMoog at the show and he was really excited about the Taurus Pedal sounds since he loves that sound but hasn't found it in keyboards before. Genesis still use the hardware Taurus Pedals on tour now just for "that sound".
Also, I seem to recall the preliminary info on Samplemoog listing the Liberation (I own one, I love it) and the Taurus II amongst the instruments sampled, but I don't see them listed on the current data on the website. Were they not included because they're essentially the MG-1 & Rogue, respectively, in different packages? Or are they being held back for a possible future expansion? Either way, this product is going on my Christmas list. I've been a good boy this year; I haven't even written any songs longer than 10 minutes...

Yeah, they're essentially the MG-1 and Rogue. But, there is the possibility still of expansion down the road because there's always more to sample. However, the sound of those two are well covered in this anyway. I am doing some patches referencing those two and some others. I also sampled the Opus 3, not the most popular Moog but a funny little quirky thing. It didn't make it on there either but perhaps in a future update. It all depends on how many people buy it!DocAtlas wrote:Just how has the ST engine been tweaked? Different filter models? Something less obvious? Speaking of... it is now available as a crossgrade for anyone who owns ANY IK product (you save even more money) but this is a limited time thing so take advantage of it while you can! http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=1663
Oh and the good news is that if you pre-order from esoundz the product will ship out staring toward the end of next week AND you get a free downloadable bank of presets that are exclusive, you can't get them anywhere else. Great price, fun extras...
As far as customization, there were tweaks and curves adjusted to respond more like a Moog. I believe it's a flexiblity of the ST2.5 engine and will run within the ST2.5 engine this way as well. It isn't necessarily new modeled filters and things like that but the filter which was already rather Moog-like was tweaked a little to respond more like a Moog for these patches as well as other things like the legato mode, the portamento curve, note priority... that's what I mean by "tailored". It acts more like a Moog than just a regular SampleTank would have before (hence Janka's excitement).
But, it goes so far beyond Moog as well. Wait until you guys have this thing. I am serious this is one AWESOME synth!

Can't wait to hear it. The report on KVR mentions that IK will have 10 sounds from it to download & use in ST 2.5 Great! This'll give us something to play with while saving the money for the full deal. Are there going to be any audio demos at Esoundz? Or better, how about some of you early purchasers putting up some demos of it?Squids wrote:

I have a question about the demo. IK says it expires after 10 days. They also say that after four days the polyphony will be reduced to four. This seems to suggest that the demo will still work after 10 days, but only with limited polyphony.MortenJ wrote:Samplemoog demo is up on :

Is this right? Will the demo continue to function past the 10 days? I want to know how thoroughly I have to check this thing out over the next week or so.
Thanks,
Ben

Play what you feel and feel what you play.

Sweet. This will give me something to play with while I save up. Demo'd it today. Really authentic sound. And the latency is much better than with SonicSynth Free. Patches load more quickly too. So far I'm really impressed.Squids wrote:It will continue with 4 voices so... enjoy your free 4 voice analog synth!benlogan wrote:I have a question about the demo. IK says it expires after 10 days. Thanks,
BenBut, buying the full version is still totally worth it and where it's at.
The only thing I wish was built in is an arpeggiator - since the one in my version of Logic Audio is such a pain to use.
