Im using Ableton, and the new version of compressive - which shows up in ableton - i THINK i got it to work as a sidechain function - via adding compressive as a send, and then routing the 2 tracks to the send - and turning on both dials to full then setting the sidechain option to stereo?
or did i miss something? with the slim slow slider compressor, you just slap that on the bass channel, then rout the kick to that channel to the sss effect and then tweak the sss effect to taste.....
apparently not all sidechaining compressors work that way...

Click the image for a close up, they show Compressive set up in both views of Live. You can use the 'monitor' button to actually listen to the sidechain so you can hear if you have it set up correctly. Set 'monitor' to output to listen to the the plugin's output or set it to 'input' to listen to audio entering the sidechain
If the sidechain is set to 'internal' then inputs 1+2 are used for the sidechain. If the sidechain is set to 'external' then inputs 3+4 are used for the sidechain

just tried it out, very nice sound.
(one thing,it says in the docs the dll's have to be in the resources folder for it to work, but it's working fine in ext1.4.1 with them not.)

For anyone who likes this: try DCDC. Limited options but the sound is AMAZING. It's the only plug in this DC so far that I'm honestly gonna use as part of my arsenal.

I am grateful that both are released but for me Compressive is way better sounding as it is an RMS compressor while DC is only a peak compressor. Most people tend to find RMS compressors sound way more musical than peak compressors
I even like Compressives analogue modelling as well and am normally very skeptical about such things
I think both have uses though Compressive is my number 1
