Looking for advice on the cheapest keyboard / workstation that I can import .WAV files from my laptop.
Would need to work in a live setting. Just want to put a couple of instruments in .wav format as a backing track so I can play the main riffs over them. Trying to stay away from using the laptop live.
I've seen a few (eg) Fantom 6 , Fantom 7, Fantom 8, Motif, Triton, etc...
I'm finding it hard to find any more.
Any advice?
Thanks.

what about a groovebox like the roland mc-909 (which can be found used pretty cheap...). When you say .wav files, are they loops or multi-sampled instruments using wavs as the samples. because if they are loops, the groovebox idea isn't bad.

the coolest, i think, of them all is the alesis fusion hd6/hd8. it has an internal hard drive to play and record samples
just be sure to get the ones with trigger pads like the rolands do.
be part of the solution, not the problem
