In Live 6.0.7 (winXP), free alpha consistently locks up my daw if i try to select a preset using midi program change, or using Live's preset list. Everything's fine selecting different patches from the instruments own gui.

Yeah this doesn't happen in eXT 1.4.
Thanks for a fine instrument, Linplug, and congratulations to this BT person for some of the best presets I've heard in a VSTi. Usually presets are either superb sounding or usable, these are both.

Not sure if this is related, but I used Free Alpha in Live 5 for a track, and each time I close Live and reopen it, the preset changes from the one I selected to another. This happened with more than one preset in more than one piece of music.
Does this problem cover this too?

OK, thanks for the response Peter. Do you know when this bug might get fixed? I was going to try this software out to see if I could get it into any other mixes.

Hi,
This issue of crashing in Live seems to have been recognised for some time, and Peter suggested a fix was coming, but that was a very long time ago.
The recent Computer Music special on synth programming gave Alpha a real marketing boost I would imagine - is it likely that a new release will be coming that fixes this issue and any other outstanding points?

Its not too far away, we soon will have a public beta of the 64 bit version of Alpha, when this runs fine we rlease the Alpha update (both 32 and 64 bit)

Can anyone confirm whether the new v3.1 release does indeed fix this issue in Live? The release notes suggest so, but I'm unable to test it because the trial download for Windows appears to still be the old v3.01 (and also, Symantec gives a Trojan warning when trying to download the demo - see here for details http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=linplug5.com)

Hi Chrispy, we'll update the demo within the next weeks, if you want i can send it to you via email (just mail me from here). The Norton is a false positive, unfortunately this happens, and moreover there system to report false positives also seems to have its issues, so they have this faulty result since quite a while.
