i voted for:

1. truc by de la Mancha / sink
awesome performance multi-effect, could become better by allowing me to use more than one instance of the same modules with different settings (4 differently timed delays for instance). but it's great as it is.

2. Bouncer by Another Small Clue
my favorite delay so far, and if i'm not mistaken, i tried all freeware vst delays and payware vst delays that had demo versions. could benefit greatly from a more appealing gui, personally i would like a hardware metaphor, but i'm sure there are other possibilities i would like about as much, the current gui is quite a turn-off for me though.

3. Sounds of Nature by xoxos
love the insect & wind modules and will treat them as highly versatile noise generators for the most part, as for the rest of the pack, not really my cup of tea, but i may well use them some day.

4. Developer Challenge Duckling Compressor by Betabugs Audio
my favorite freeware compressor so far, if counting payware though, i prefer Dynamix and Kjaerhus GCO. could be improved by incorporating some of the features found in Dynamix (limit the compressor to only treat a particular frequency range and such). awesome gui!

5. The Element of Surprise by Ugo
does what it says on the tin amazingly well imo, however, i really would need access to a few more parameters - filters in particular - for it to remain in projects it might inspire.

I wish we could have voted for 10 - it was so hard to choose! The entries that would have got my 5-10 positions were (in no order) Duckling Compressor, Truc, Oddy-free, Alieno, Kx-Modulad.

Thank you to all the devs for your efforts, there are many great plugins here :)

then a few others to fill it out

I measure it by how I use it in a project, and so far the Oscine Tract is the only one I've actually completed a project with.

I think ambient music balls is totally awesome to jam with.

Kable is fun to modify my junk-midi guitar with.

The 2 compressors sound great, no foolin'!

Quasimodo ring modulator is mind blowing, imo.

Rhythmic Tangent trancifies anything.

Kx modulad sounds great, low on cpu.

How exactly I voted is a secret.
