It's cool, I'm cranky when I'm sick. Again, check out the 2005 thread while you drink some tea or something, but remember, the links in all the sound examples Kilroy are dead. Still, there's some good stuff in there in regards to what Kilroy was going for with it and his design approach.

I don't doubt it. He's a mad scientist, that one (but not evil!).
Mm, tea. Good idea!

You see...now *that* was surely worth all the effort, no?
Superbly done.

ahjteam wrote:ADHD edit (mainly for myself):
- 3 aux channels, 100% wet
- multi tap delay (AUX1), reverb (AUX2), clean chorus (AUX3)
- from source send in pre-fader to AUX1
- from AUX1 send in pre-fader to AUX2
- from AUX2 send in post-fader to AUX3
- finetune with mutes and solos
Question: Why dont you just do this in one aux channel like this:
Delay -> Ggain (for volumecontrol) -> Reverb -> Ggain -> Chorus ?
Ahjteam...a serial chain will generally have less flexibility in the balancing and arranging of its different elements.
Using a parallel processing approach affords you considerably greater control over the degree of processing that each element receives within that parallel processing matrix. In a serial processing chain, the last element in the chain tends to become the most dominant one, which is not always desirable. If, for example, you wanted to EQ that chorus, say to roll out some lows, you would roll out the bottom on the entire chain of processing preceding the chorus as well. Using a parallel processing matrix allows you almost complete freedom to detail any of the effects within that matrix with a large degree of independence.
Having your effects spread across a number of channel faders opens up your work area considerably, as well. You can accomplish significant adjustments to the overall sound quickly and with ease, and the visual feedback from the fader positions, for me anyroad, makes for more efficient and intuitive sound design.

Right then...it's obvious your cold has your perceptions in somewhat of a muddle.

I changed the title of this thread to be less misleading.

so wait, i must have missed something because after reading that old "kilroy's reverb" thread I am totally dead set on getting my hands on the thing come hell or high water. Or heck, maybe even just to hear the lastest news on it!! I mean that was 2 years ago!! Blimey!kilroy wrote:Oh...I'm quite mad, indeed.bduffy wrote:I don't doubt it. please. I need to know. this is like the most interesting thing i've found on kvr the past month or so (i know it's sad - but reverb just has a special place in my heart like that).

Unprocessed Pad
Processed Pad
5. For the pad, I sent source signal directly into Aux 2 and did a send effect to Aux 1. The pad is therefor fully wet reverb with source going to the delay.

Nice, very nice

To throw more tricks to the box, I think that many people overlook the power of using more than one reverb at the same time, especially if you don't get satisfying results with just one.

I used OmniVerb, Xhip reverb and KarmaFX Reverb there.
+1. This thing got me interested now! A shame that the links don't workjoshhunsaker wrote:so wait, i must have missed something because after reading that old "kilroy's reverb" thread I am totally dead set on getting my hands on the thing come hell or high water.
