Anyone reckon that the kind of workflow you can get with the TPK patches and ableton, could be reproduced with another pad controller (namely the akai) ; or is it really tied to tke korg's inner workings (scenes etc)?

I have a Novation X-Station - and the pad on that is garbage. to be honest i just never use it.
I just bought home a padKONTROL tonight. just setting it up now

you will like it!i'm quite pleased with it. the pads on are awesome and the x|y pad on it is very good, the setup is easy and it feels good to play it.

Hi guys. Just reporting back after I've had a bit of a play round with the padKONTROL - and I've got to say I really dig this unit. Simple, but very effective, expressive way of triggering sounds IMO. The usability is superb. The pads have a great feel, physical design is ultra-slick, the design for settings/controls etc are very well thought out, makes it easy & fast to change scenes, or set CC numbers etc. It exceeded my expectations really - I think with some clever ideas this beast can be put to good use.
I wouldn't base your decision on purchasing a padKONTROL on the x/y pad. Forget abouut IIIT. They're nothing overly exciting, they're just tack ons. If you really want top quality pad action, go the Kaoss Pad 2 or 3. Those things are weapons.
The padKONTROL's x/y pad is DEFINITELY no Kaoss pad. But I think it's slightly better than the Novation x-y pad.

I'm in the market for one of these. Are any FLS users having trouble with the X/Y pad and making assignments? That's my only worry and I just wanted to make sure everything was kosher.
