Esoundz *is* Sonic Reality (well, technically it's a sister company, but Squids runs them both). The OP was looking for alternatives to SR.

Unfortunately, there aren't any other third-party ST-format sound distributors. AMG had some (available through SR), but they have their own player now.

IK has deprecated ST2LE (no UB version, Vista support not guaranteed, etc), which used to be bundled with ST-format samples - so if you want ST-format samples now, you have to buy ST2L or XL.

If you don't want ESoundz (or they don't have what you want), then your best bet is to buy EXSC or Chicken and small (ie RAM-based) samplesets in other formats (K1, sfz, soundfont, etc) and convert them.

He used to have more ST libs though....I got one with some excellent Vintage sampler stuff in it (fairlight, emulator, etc)

On the SonikReality forum here, I posted a request that IK develop a multisample creator. Several people supported the idea. Maybe with enough people arguing for it, IK will develop one. It would be to their advantage--the SampleTank interface and effects and controls are great. It may not have scripts and convolution, but it can do a lot. With a multisample creator, it would gain a much wider user base and they would still sell their own samples.

Thanks for the mention. Right now, we have Alchemy: Rhythm and Texture which is in its first generation, and there is also an ST edition of Anomaly, the library co-created and under the development direction of our Chief Sound designer Daniel Kemp.

At various points in the pipeline are both a series of Expansion Elements for Alchemy, which will include new sample material, as well as more Child Presets and Multis using the cool new features of ST2.5 for the core library, and an updated version of Anomaly inclusive of the new Volume 2 and the forthcoming Volume 3. The Expansion Elements will include more loops and ambient esoterica and will be released as they are finished beginning later this year, and Anomaly ST2 Edition will update in December.

However, in the meantime, Alchemy is pretty darn good as-is. It's probably as sonically unique a soundware collection for ST2 as you will find. At both the sample and preset levels, it pushes the envelope of what one expects from this synth and exploits the sound-mangling and transformational power of the engines as nothing else on the market does. Anyone interested in ST2 soundware that is beyond the conventional but still fundamentally musical needs to give Alchemy a very serious look.

Hey John....

What about the old Sampletank Libraries that you used to sell. Did you give that collection a lethal injection. I'll pay if they still exist.

We like to keep the line fresh, and so things do get retired. But everything is available on an informal basis.
