When do you guys think would be fair to stop updates on the dc page? Do you think it should be the same deadline that CM has to submit the entries for their DVD? (don't know the date btw)
On a side note, I want you to know that updates were never promised or guaranteed and we really are doing this because we love you!! :p

My aim was to ensure that I got updates in before voting started, since (in a way) that's when we're being judged from, and keeps to a level playing field... other wise PanGloss would now have 11 outputs, 4 LFOs and make a decent pot of coffee.
I assumed others were doing the same, but I guess I was wrong!

I think updates that involve new features are a little out of order but bug fixes should be allowed. imo.

I have no problem with updates till the end of voting.
Everyone is allowed to do them and I think it would be a shame to hold back new features and bug fixes just for the sake of the contest.
Plus if the overall concept of an entry didn't appeal to me the first time I tried it no update will change this. In fact I probably never get the update if I think the software is not useful for my music making right now.
So I really hope Tuz and Ben can keep up the love

Well when the aim is getting more votes, it's likely for all the devs to fix bugs more than adding new features that can produce even more problems.hezee wrote:I have no problem with updates till the end of voting.

At least that what happened to me, at times I thought about adding things up like velocity control and oversampling, but then I was answered for fixes and that leaded my attention. Anyway I would allow any change that is reasonable in theme with the plug, as hezee said, and thanks Tuz & Ben for the extra care.

There is a problem with adding features that not everyone will keep downloading the latest version, and invest the time in trying them out. So any votes will be cast for different things. I would argue that the dl frenzy of the first week should be when updates happen, and then after the voting starts, no more unless there are real showstoppers [which should have been ironed out by beta and other operatives anyway].

I'd prefer that everyone judges my work on a single item. It turned out I did need to do a fix, but since voting opened there have been no changes. Even if there had been a nasty bug, I would have been reluctant to update within the comp, and put it down to experience - I prefer a level playing field, and if I didn't cut it, then that's just the way it is: I'd try harder next time.
maybe that's just me!
