Hello, anybody has updates about the release of the enhanced (timbre morphing) Truepianos, or any other possible enhancement/addition release date?

It seems quite a few weeks without any news...

I'm still unsure if I should buy NI Akoustik Piano or Truepianos. Hope to get a new demo of TP soon since my last demo is expired.

Hi,

We are very well aware ourselves that it's time to release something new. We had some complications and lots of exhausting work on various other projects. Because of this a module which uses what I referred to as 'timbre morphing' is not yet ready to be included in the next update. We are working on readying a new module based on currently used techniques in the coming days/week(s).

V1.02 (the planned version number for this update) which will be released between now and the end of this month will contain an engine update adding some new 'internal' procesing features, a MIDI channel selector for standalone, MIDI CC support for all major controls, VST and RTAS support for Mac OS X and some other minor things.

If all goes well we'll include that new module (called Sapphire) which is currently being betatested.

It's less than we originally planned for this update, but we don't want to delay the next update much longer.

This is all the details I can give at the moment.

I think Truepianos need a new feature.
That is seperate pan of different keys.

Hi,

What do you mean with with 'seperate pan of different keys' ? The introduction of new features will be limited in the v1.x releases. We plan to rewrite the engine completely from scratch in the near future to allow several new features we've planned. One of the reasons for this is because some features need a seriously updated GUI and thus those are planned for TruePianos v2.0.

Suggestions on new features are always welcome but please use the support form on our website to communicate these to us in detail so that all of us will read them and 'seriously' consider those. On forums my/our replies will be limited a bit since it's generally not a good idea to discuss potential new features which might not make it into the product, publicly for everybody to read. It doesn't not mean however that there won't be replies but those that will be given will be a bit more 'controlled' and less 'open' then those communicated over e-mail.

Also, that's a good sign to read TruePianos v2.0

. It means that the best is coming. I'll keep an eye open for thir major new release in 2008.

So what are the main differences between the Sapphire and the old modules?

Hi,

The main difference is that it's a completely different piano

It's quite suitable for Pop/Rock, probably Jazz and certain ways of Classical playing.

Sapphire also introduces pedal sounds (in a very subtle way). There currently is no control over them (loudness, on/off) but that will appear in some form in the next engine update (v1.0.3 ?) which will probably arrive next month.
