How can you tell the legal from the illegal on that site?
I'd like to take advantage of the freebies, but I can't seem to tell the public domain sf2 files from the commercial rip-offs.
Does anyone have a list of sf2's that are ok to use for both non-commercial and commercial songs without copyright restriction?

I've never seen anything illegal on that site - but you have to use your own best sense in that regard.
Even the SJ Orchestral that some people weren't sure about is legit, if you check it's history (Saint James Orchestral recordings was it's original full title).

I am fairly certain that some off the SJ Orch are emu samples.
I think a very large percent of those files are ripped off from commercial products. Much of it is emu.
I have some emu sounds and I recocnize them.
