How many tracks do you use in your songs?

How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

Mine is not so standard to tell... In general, I will end up with about 15 different audio files that I mix, each audio file being an "element:" the product of several synths or sounds. So, for each track, I will combine several synths and FX styles, the bounce to audio, then mix these guys and eq them to submission in the audio mixing phase. Overall, I use hundreds of different tracks at one point or another, but the result must always be much smaller than that, for both my mixing sanity and for my poor computer!
