Hello
This thread is intended to see if a reseller could be eventually interested in a collection of impulse responses i'm in the way to achieve
But considering the fact that, more than anything, my real interest would be the possible recognition of my work rather than a commercial aspect that i'm totally incapable to handle by myself, i'm still hesitating not to choose another way,
...but let's see what is the point , here an overall description of the concept :
The entire soundfiles, created artificially and that are intended to be used as impulse responses, behaves as sympathetic strings and were focused on harmonies through all the usual tempered scales and types of scales,
that means in practice, everytime i've found a particular character, the signal process chain was kept and then applied for every half-steps of each of these usual types of tempered scales :
- major
- melodic minor
- harmonic minor
- arabic minor
-"double harmonic" ( scales built with the combination of two harmonic tetrachords )
for, at least a total of 60 similar IR soundfiles everytime, ...or just the twelve half-tones of an entire octave for some of them, when it only targeted a fundamental note
The actual complete IR palette contains a little less than 900 IRs within aproximatively 2.5 Gig
Here, litteraly, a sample of these ones, focused on G Major scale, downsampled at 16bits/44.1Khz ( the originals are at 24/96)
www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/misc/G.exe
Let me just recommand you to read the short .txt file included first
Feddbacks are, of course, highly appreciated

Ok
too bad that is didn't catch your curiosity a bit more, here some musical examples :
www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/IR/E-piano.mp3
This one shows an IR, (G/Maj01.wav)loaded as it is, without other modifications, adapted for dark and mellow sound, and strictly bounded to it dedicated scale...the epiano is a "Mark 1" preset of the Evp88 from Logic
www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/IR/Clavinet.mp3
This one (G/Maj03.wav) unlike the preceeding one is much more coloured by the hi-end frequencies and will be particulary reactive with the highest notes of your keyboard, loaded as it is, the Clav is a self-made preset for the Evd6 from Logic
notice that both of these examples, for comparison, uses exactly the same MIDI datas
www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/IR/Grand.mp3
An example, that might let you some room to improvise something elsewhere that the original G scale at some degree, the piano part performs on G melodic minor in the case...
www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/IR/Choir.mp3
This last one uses an IR basically focused on a minor triad of G through 8 octaves or more (11-NorrisComb1-G.wav) that let much room to play something that doesn't match clearly a scale, though the original one still keep some significant character, BTW the instrument involved is a "church choir" preset of the Exs24 from Logic
I forgot to precise though, and you may notice it, that all these impulses are mainly suitable for ambiant soundscapes and quiet harmonies
All the IR involved here are, of course, included in the link on my first post
again, feedback are welcome, ...
... from ambient music lovers especially, of course !

Ok, this is great! I do the same sort of thing but with random samples i find lying around
trial and error.
You've done something great here, I'm working on a company that produces audio plugins at the moment (MST), unless you want to go with an already established company no problem

Basic EQ tip: highpass all that don't hit subs, usually all but bass and kick

well, this is something you could perfectly do by yourslf, me thinksMoreDread wrote:I dont really get how they work, how about some dry/wet examples?
1) - Just load, for instance, the very first one called : "G/Maj01.wav" as it is, on any convolution reverb,
2) - use an e-piano or a bass preset, as sound source
3) - notice how it behaves when your performance stays, or doesn't stay in accordance to the dedicated scale
This one has a particulary selective sensitivity, that is strictly focused on the choosen scale and will stay silent or almost silent at the time your performance doesn't match it anymore...

No offence intended, but .exe files make me a little nervious. Any chance you could post a .zip or .rar file?

So what your doing is just loading Random One Hit or Stab Samples into a Convolution Reverb? I do that all the time in SiR for some Crazy and Unexpected Results.

Have you checked out Spirit Canyon Audio?
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=50
I think you have an interesting idea, and I like the demos you have posted.

I like your examples. I'm not sure how big a market there is for such IRs. Something like this maybe wouldn't be a massive seller, but I'm sure there's a small niche market for it. Maybe contact a sample developer like Dangerous Bear. They don't have any IR libraries that I can see, but they have a history of working with third parties and for putting out quirky/unique material.
