Ah... 1.03 with .tga. Should hopefully make this all moot.

to get a seperate mask file - I've been doing this.

export image from knobman as png - will use this for the image.
export image from knobman as tga with alpha - will get the mask from this
with the tga, delete the RGB channels, leaving only the alpha channel
convert the image to grayscale
save this as PNG to use as mask.

ImageMagick's convert (command line utility) can convert directly from any .PNG with Alpha-Transparency to .TGA, keeping the Alpha-layer intact ...

ImageMagick also includes a graphics viewer which correctly displays .PNG and .TGA Alpha-Transparency

*sigh*

Anyways, cool stuff guys!
I haven't worked with Reaktor, but I'd say the method suggested earlier by chuck death and others should work. Here's a quick video showing one way of creating an alpha from a PNG with transparency in Photoshop.

Hope that helps.

Download was small, so I went ahead and grabbed it.

It works great! Problem solved!

Hmm, spoke too fast; some work and some don't.

edit: they work; accidentally exported as .bmp's.

This is very cool, yay!

Glad you got things sorted Sickle! 8)
CC4 wrote:I'm speaking from Photoshop knowledge, so I don't know how much they stripped down CS... I'm assuming this should be exactly the same though.
I think you're confusing the versions; CS is the full version of Photoshop (currently CS3), the stripped down version is Photoshop Elements 6. Actually there is now also a kind of "super" photoshop too called "CS3 Extended" that features MatLab integration, Image analysis tools and other high end stuff.

Yeah, I'm using CS 2 here. Its a real clunker. Same old RAM leaks PS has always had..
