can X2 do multiple audio outs as a VSTi? i can figure it out in standalone thru patchmix, but not VSTi..i can see there are multiple buss outputs, but the only place i can see to assign them is in the Multisetup area (and from what i understand there is no way to send multiple midi channel to a VSTi)...i just want to be able to assign different voices (in the same preset, like a drum kit for example) to seperate outputs for processing with VST fx, can't figure it out...
if i'm missing something obvious, it' wouldn't be the first time...thanks...

If I'm understanding you, go to options then preferences and under the audio tab there is a setting for VST output busses.

Oh ok. There's a couple of ways. Click on the rectangle patch in the upper left hand of the window. Under the volume knob in the middle of the window you can set the output bus for the currently selected preset. You can also click on the 1-16 tab then click on the outs tab and set the output buses for all the presets on one page.
I don't think you can assign individual voices inside a single preset to different buses.

i can assign presets to various bus outs, and they show up as such in my host (T3)...but i can't send more than 1 midi channel at a time to the X2 app as a VSTi, and i can't assign the same midi channel to more than 1 preset, so i'm not sure how to get seperate audio channels from X2 into my host...i realize i can open several instances, but i'm trying to avoid that, but it may be the only way to go...

Again it should not be. I am working with multi out and multiple midi in FL Studio and Cubase without a glitch. Though i dont know tracktion at all i just wanna tell you that this is very very possible with one instance. I really hope you will find where is that damn little obvious thing...Chuck E. I don't remember any specific setting for that. I work in cubase sx2 and 1 instance of X2 works as it should with multiple midi tracks. I have 1 X2 open and a couple midi tracks. Each of the midi tracks sends their track specific data to different presets in X2 so its possible.

Well of course! How did you think otherwise ?? Though i dont understand why you did not try this yetChuck E. Jesus wrote:traction sees the multiple buss outs from X2, that's not a problem....
when you say "multiple midi", do you mean you are sending more than 1 midi channel to 1 instance of X2 at the same time? i was told this is not possible with a VSTi...if it is possible, that's where my problem is i suppose...
And YES with VSTi
Look if you dont have manual just PM me and i will send you PDF manual to e-mail. No problem at all

there are 3 aux out puts & the selected bus for that preset,
so you can send only 1 preset over 4 different outs (but its alot of unneeded extra work,
the os on the hardware was great as in you can select midi channel in per preset how ever you wanted (multi presets on one midi channel) & you could set output per sample
the best way to use EmuX is to use more than one instance when needed & split your drums over the bus & 3 aux out's,

as i said, i was given bad info, and i did try sending multiple midi channels several different ways...i've got the manual, there isn't a whole lot about VST...i'm not even having luck getting a Multisetup to work at all, seems to only want to play 1 preset at a time...multiple instances seems to work fine, so i guess i'll go that route for now...kmonkey wrote:Well of course! everything else seems fine, i love the filters, sampling and processing is a breeze...i guess i just have to mess with it some more

yeah, the emu hardware samplers i've used were easy...and actually, it appears in standlone mode to be easy to route via ASIO/Patchmix pretty easy...i really like X2, just the routing is odd to me...djsubject wrote:there are 3 aux out puts & the selected bus for that preset,

just for a test, i opened the standalone X2 app, setup a quick Multisetup, and routed the presets to different ASIO outs, and applied different fx with the Patchmix mixer, and when i send different out on different midi channel from my keyboard, the corresponding preset plays thru it's ASIO channel w/fx like expected, no problems...
