Hey, you got nice sound there. But it hasn't got proper legato (in your patch envelope retriggers when you play legato, but it shouldn't), and also it's only half of the lead actually. The other half is feedback on aftertouch which is a crucial part of Rudess lead sound and it's this feedback that makes his solos sound so expressive and diverse.
But anyway, the tone is quite close to original, so it's a good start :)

Yeah, it seems since KarmaFX is truly modular there's a lot more flexibility in what can be done...

I'm working with limitations here. I don't have the "original" sound on me, and I'm merely working on layer tone examples than 'control' instructions which seem to be provided on that PRogsounds.net article... But yeah, feel free to edit correct or whatever, cause any more I'll probably make it sound worse. :D

The feedback's there, the envelope's just um...yeah.

As for the retriggered envelope, I'll have to address that, I think it's a bug. (It doesn't do that on Bipolar mode, though I'll have to double-check. I'm already having a hard time trying to pitch it right with Bipolar mode.)

Thanks MaliceX. I don't have Hypersonic2, but the KarmaFX version sounds really good. Great job man. Thanks for sharing.

I had alot of fun yesterday playing with your Rudess Patch MaliceX. The only problem was that with all the osc's it was the only thing i could run. Great sound though.

Yeah, KarmaFX needs a fairly fast PC to work.
Make sure you have RC6, unless you enjoy RC5's major slowdown.

It's not for Zebra I don't have it, and I don't think they will sound the same though.
In any case, here is my Zebralette bank http://www.evilshare.com/769486c2-cdc7- ... a0c993e9d6

Enjoy the craziness, and remember that all of this is done with one freakin' oscillator. Man, Urs should get a Nobel prize for this.

Best.

I have to give props on the that "rolandish lead" preset in Oatmeal. I was going thorugh those presets last night and this one stood out to me. It sounds bad ass. And now I read this thread and the author mentions it.

Oatmeal really makes some unique sounds. The presets are all over the place in variation.

Browse his official forum. There's a post by him which explain how to program his typical lead sound on a Korg 01v or something similar. You can try to emulate the parameters on your favourite synth.

EDIT: didn't noticed the thread was a million years old :hihi:
