Good eye Justin, yup it's a Fireface 800. As for the general neatness... I've only just moved into this room... now, the fact that I've moved upstairs means I'll have to govern myself somewhat differentlyjustin3am wrote:Looks like an RME Fireface 800. FotsEspecially music as good as yours! Where are the empty beer bottles, the half smoked joints and fast food wrappers... where are the miles of cable, spools of solder and electrical tape... I don't even see a lava lamp! Oh wait, you have an Apple computer! That explains everything!
It's funny though, just owning a PC has caused me to have all the aforementioned accoutrements. I am the only Mac owner I know with a messy workspace.
Lets see some studio pics

Bang on with the "post tidy" comment Steve... how did you know about my suit and tie?blaster78 wrote:indeed, poly's music evokes a lovely "alive" feel, i can only presume that this is immediately "post tidy", i half expect poly to be in the picture grinning, wearing a white linen suit and pianokeys tiejustin3am wrote:Nice rig Poly but I have a hard time believing anyone could make music thereEspecially music as good as yours! Seriously, I'm big on clutter, and my nest in the basement catered to that perfectly... the trade-off was that the monitoring conditions were absolutely appalling... furnace fan, a/c, extra fridge, pipes and duct work etc. I imagine my new space will revert over time, but at least I now have a picture of it in pristine condition!

that's what gets me about this thread; everything looks so neat and tidy. I don't believe half of it.justin3am wrote:

Yeah, my pictures (p.128-129)are 'before' the music starts. Maybe I'll try to find the 'after' pics, but I'll have to crop out the cigarette smoking hookers with bongs making garbage angels and graffiti murals in the background.
Seriously, I clean the place up before each session to lessen the damage that will occur once the music begins. But it always ends up trashed by morning.

I totally agree. And turn it into "the dongle", instead of the stupid dongles. By the way, does Korg Legacy Collection use a dongle beside the MS-20 controller? Two USB ports?tconrardy wrote:... The Korg MS20 USB controller and I love it! Here it is installed ( more or less) in my studio:
Of course, that came with the software. I really think more products should do this.. a dedicated controller that controls the software, but with dedicated knobs with labels, 4 way switches, lots of LED's and visual indicators...
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

I have the Legacy Collection Digital Edition (no MS-20 controller). It has Syncrosoft dongle. I had no problem installing the license on the same key where my Cubase 4 license also resides.Ja.x wrote: I totally agree. And turn it into "the dongle", instead of the stupid dongles. Not everyone has endless room/work space and that is one reason to choose a software instrumment over a hardware. BTW Korg legacy collection analogue edition was C/R and now it is dongle protected and comes without the hardware controller. Digital edition is dongle protected.Ja.x wrote:I totally agree. Hey, yeah I use them here too with a PC and Layla3G. I grabbed a SM Pro Nanopatch for volume control. I think the speakers are superb! The bass end was something I had to get a little used to initially but now, I feel like I can mix very easily with them and the results have translated very well. They are also very sexy speakers as your pic demonstrates. The only dissapointment was the rather obvious fact that they were rushed while being caliberated in the factory.polyslax wrote:I like the Adams a lot... very balanced speaker imo.
