It means there are 20 instrument tracks (pads) and each track can have up to 12 different hit types.

So, for example you could have a snare track that has different hits defined for normal, flam, rimshot, etc.

If you look at the sequencer screen, you'll see in the lower right corner buttons labeled 'Ord'. You click there to cycle through the different hit types for the currently selected note. Each different hit type can trigger a different group of samples in the sampler.

The different hit types are mapped in the sampler with the alternate value. The name that shows up in the sequencer is the name of the first group mapped to that particular alternate value.

Sounds good xing.

I've uploaded a new beta version of Poise. Mainly to fix the problems for Reaper users.

This version isn't compatible with the previous version. I had to change the save file format, but hopefully this shouldn't happen again.

[Changes]
- Sample preview now activated by scrolling in browser with arrow keys.

- New short cuts while Browser has focus.
{Delete} Delete sample.
{Right Arrow} Preview sample.
{Enter} load sample to selected pad and select next pad.
{W} Select next pad.
{Q} Select previous pad.

- Amp Env now off by default.

[Bug Fixes]
- Options screen now "always on top".
- Reaper. Samples were being imported by Reaper.
- Saving a default Note Map would cause a crash if NoteMaps directory didn't exist.

That's great Shannon, thank you! :)

I spread the word a bit on the Reaper forum, and a number of people there are excited about Poise now...

Just gave Poise a quick try out. Working well here in EnergyXT 1.4.
My wish would be for multiple wave loading per pad with velocity cross fade or round robin style playback. I could live without step sequencing but thats just me.
Nice work.Thanks

Thanks for spreading the word Jamester!

@MRT: Thanks for testing it out and the feedback.

The browser does't work very well, for ex: i add 4 folders in the options but in the browser i can't see the samples,i can only see the samples from the last folder. I't was ok on version 0.3 beta1.

Sorry for my bad English

good job, works well
thank you

Uploaded a new version that fixes the nested sample directory bug.

Thanks Gritos for that bug report.

Post

something like grizzly but with a 'freeze' function once i get all the fx/levels tweaked
Ideas are bulletproof... I am not.

Thanks Gritos for that bug report.
Working great now.

Just 4 suggestions...
1.Can you add a zoom to the sample view
2.Remove that green bar
3.End knob (i now that this can be done with the amp env but that does some kind of fade out)
4.Option save kit + samples(creat folder for samples)

Thanks

can poise read mp3s?

Post

stale bread: no it can't read mp3s. Is their a particular reason you would like that feature?

videzyrah: what do you mean by a freeze function? Do you want to save all the parameter values for a particular pad without the sample data?

Several people have requested pads that load multiple samples with velocity, random and round-robin switching. How many samples would suffice? 8 or 12 would be enough for me.

yes in terms of using it as a drum(sampler) mp3s are like dusty old record crates and often with a character of their own. it would be extremely nice to be able to mine such troves and not have to do the step of converting them before using them within poise, nice looping and even multiple loop points on the pads would go well with them too.

poise works well, big thanks.
multiple sample load and velocity would be very useful.
4 would be enough for me too.
(I have used no more layers for drums) :)
excuse my awful english....its not my mother tongue :)
