Old-school electro-acid track made with Creakbox.

If anyone wants the full list of generators, effects and routings just ask.

Play it in a dark room with some visualizations going on in Winamp for maximum effect.

This is my first serious attempt at acid in a while, so feedback desperatley craved...

great work on the drums and the mix.
oldschool acid to me means the late 80s, and with that in mind, this is really, really too fast to qualify :p
the acid bassline has a few authenticity problems (in the emulation department): it has too much decay, and the self oscillation is erm, off.

again, love the drums and their dynamics, sweet groove. :tu:

p.s. have you noticed the file has no suffix? one must download and rename prior to listening, also, an id3 tag wouldn't hurt. :)

And shutup about the TB emulation.

EDIT: I mean, come on, I was using Creakbox ffs. Why can't we all just sit back and enjoy the acid?

And good point about the speed of the drums. They were effected with Compressive to give them that mild distorted sound btw.

I think you reach your goal very well NapalmBob ! Acid track indeed.
Drums works great without nowdays extreme sounds. Cool synth lines
I enjoyed it, very effective

"very effective"

I like that. Thank you Laguna.

Do you think I should sunmit to the contest, even though it is 6:40min long?

I think even using the time-stretching algorhythm it won't satisfy the rulez... :hihi:

Cheers

Dang.

Maybe I'll put it on YouTube. Anyone know how?

Oh, ok.

Glad you enjoyed it too Psy-T, mister "I have a TB tattoo on my arm"

both downloads have to be renamed "the.mp3" to play, btw.

solid beat. I'll have to find out what creakbox is, but the aforementioned 'tb' is cool. Could use a 100 low pass to remove the rumble, IMO. Cool ideas. Will you be developing this any further or are mixing suggestions moot?

Nice track.

Post

Maybe not mixing further, just taking suggestions for my next acid epic.

Cool track napalmbob. I like how you have the old-school acid sounds and the very modern sounding drums together - very cool vibe. I don't know too much about acid, but this was very cool (as is some other acid stuff that Ive heard). Nice track. Cheers.

EDIT: Hey Psy, whats the name of the track thats at 25min-ish?

it's too late for him bob, after you and a couple of others grabbed it the other day, it got taken down, permenently - i had a 1 year hosting deal on that server, it's on grace that it somehow survived nearly 2 and a half years on there (with about 3-4 downloads a day  ).

i'm reuploading to my personal server, but i don't have the files encoded at 128kbps any longer, only at VBR, so they're 100mb larger each. i've uploaded the first part last night, will up the second one tomorrow.

will update the music page on my website once i'm done with it. :)
