Wavtransit update 101
-Corrected volume issue, output is now louder.
-Stereo playback now works properly; there were problems in certain hosts such as Live, now fixed.
-An in-depth user manual is now included
The update should be added to the main DC page today, but in the meantime, get it directly here:

this plug is absolute madness <3
I voted Cubix #1 last year, it's one of the most inspiring plugins I keep. I'm not an expert on loop manglers, but having a blast with Wavtransit. Very responsive, alive and user-friendly.

I've finally made my way to testing wavtransit (maybe I should have gone in reverse alphabetic order?) and I must congratulate you on it. I like that it has a simple and easy to use interface but is still capable of some serious sample warping.

Excellent plug! One bug (I assume), If I set the "end" point of a loop almost all the way to the left (near the start point), i can no longer adjust it back to the right. Using Left Mouse Button only moves the start point. I have the latest 101 release using Energy XT2.

Yeah, this has been reported. I wrote a bit about this in the manual. I've noticed that when I have trouble moving a postion point, I click on the opposite side of it and it'll move. I just tested it by moving the end point all the way left and had no problems at first, but then it got stuck. I kind of just fiddled with it by clicking on different sides of it and it eventually moved. I know this is pretty inconvenient, especially when trying to finetune a certain point. This is mainly the way the graphic module itself works, so the only way around it is to make an extra set of knobs that finetune the position point movements. I'll do somthing about this soon in the next update, as well as a couple other small bugs I've noticed. Maybe I'll make a few presets this time too...S.HUSH wrote:Excellent plug! this is nice, neat gui,but i get a bit confused to what it's doing sometimes.some 'normal' presets would be good as a starting point.
did you code the sequencer.sep? i've not seen that one before.
anyway,i'll have more play, see if i can 'get it' .

I'll give you an example of how I use wavtransit:spacedad wrote:this is nice, neat gui,but i get a bit confused to what it's doing sometimes.some 'normal' presets would be good as a starting point.

First I load a long sample, usually from a movie or some kind of speech sample, somtimes several minuites long. I make sure the 'loop' button is enabled (it is by default), then I press the 'preview' button. This will trigger the sample continuously so that I can play around with it.
Now I always go straight to the loop vector and move it around...this will do some crazy things, refer to the manual for what it's doing exactly. The vector can go on auto-pilot with the two lofs on the right.
Now I usually avoid all the other sequencers at first and go straight to the 'position' sequencer (make sure the little orange 'on' switch next to it is activated). Now here is where the fun comes in. Just glide the mouse through the bars to make a sequence, and this will determine where the sample starts on each step. You'll get several interesting chopped up loops that will change whenever any of the sequence bars change. If you want a part of the sample to stay in position longer than one step, that's what the 'sustain position' steps are for. These will sustain the position of the previous bar for as long as the steps are activated.
Now try the loop vector while the position seq is running for even more unpredictability.
If it's still too predictable for you, there's always the 'randomize' control located on the 'position' sequencer's extention panel below. This will chop up the sample and totally randomize the bits in bpm synced mayhem. The reverse steps are always fun to mess with as well.
(oops, just noticed a bug: the randomize function stays active even when the position sequencer is deactivated. So when you turn off the position seq, make sure 'randomize' control is set back to zero. It should deactivate along with the sequencer, I'll fix this in an update later...)
Now that you've destroyed your sample, you can do some normal things to it with the velocity, pitch and filter sequencers which should be self explainatory.
Hope this helps in some way. If you have any questions, I'd be glad to help.
Maybe I'll make a small bank of presets that work as examples. The only reason I didnt before was because I was running out of time and didnt have any samples to include with them, but maybe I can make presets without samples so you can load your own.
About the sequencers, no I didnt code them, those are new modules from Chris Kerry. They're very flexible. I'll be using these alot in my future projects.

after messing with the seq then setting things back to normal but leaving the lights on it doesn't seem to reset properly, though if lights are turned off it resumes normal play ,?
velo was just doing this.
