..I downloaded this, tried it , liked it and DELETED IT!...the low number of sounds included doesnt really justify the CPU hit on my machine...especially if i tried to use it in a song with a lot of other VSTs running...
sounded great though...

What does the one have to do with the other?

I have it installed, it's decent, I like the guitars for one.. and I'm not seeing more than about 10% for most instruments on my wheezy 3GHz P4. I might end up getting the Real Thing, if the dongle they use doesn't trash the computer.. have to research that.

Its great. I've been looking for some good acoustic drum samples. Bass guitars are excellent too. Can you get samples like this free anywhere else?

convert the library to wavs?how?

Some really amazing sounds here especially the power-chord guitars, though sadly the program runs for about 10 minutes for me then crashes. Shame the samples can't be imported by Kontakt...

Hi all, I've installed this, but on launching all I get is an entirely grey GUI. Anyone else had this problem or know what I've done wrong?

Thanks!

Hey bduffy,

What this actually means that there will be several FREE additional libraries for the FREE version of Independence. :P

These will be cut-down versions of the bigger libraries that they have for sale.

if you are getting crashes try playing with the memory settings

independence was crashing tracktion 3 every time i tried to save an edit
i'm using a laptop with a slow-ish hd (but plenty of ram), so taking some load of the hd did the trick, it seems

here's what worked for me:

1) increase preferences: minimum ram
2) in each instrument use layer: read-from-ram

remember to restart for the settings to take effect

[edit] Whether there's some alternative to dongleness I couldn't say. From the looks of it I'd guess the answer is still "no." Looks pretty nice.
Some apps wont run without installing dongle drivers, or some form of 'soft dongle'. It'd be nice if they were considerate enough to not dongle a FREE product, but you never know, some companies seem to enjoy abusing their (potential) customers.
I downloaded and installed it.
No registration was necessary. No dongle or other protection mechanism was needed.
The install was easy and straight forward. No issues came up. I just double clicked the .exe to start the stand-alone version and it did the job

cheers
