...me too (& JSF) - and since you know the level of sophistication of Mr. Scarbee's work you know what to expect from the bass libraries, e.g. no loops, all real sustained sounds (as far as I can see - I won't check over a 1.000 samples individually). Best is you put your questions in the company forum at www.scarbee.com - I would think Mr. Scarbee & Nils visit there more frequently...bootsie wrote:btw, I'm a proud and satisfied owner of the old but still excellent scarbee rhodes sample lib.

I made two songs using Red Bass (which BTW has more sustain than Black Bass).bootsie wrote:yes, main concern ist the sample length, such: is there realistic sounding modulation possible during sustain phase, is there any looping while sustained? Slow slides as well.
since all the demos where uptempo (fast note changes) one can suspect the libs are weak on sustain.
A downtempo demo would really help to clearify that.
But many thanks for your kind support so far, loachm!

Both are ballads:

El Milagro del Amor

You will have to move the last three numbers from both (899 and 021) to the left then copy and paste, I don't know how to post links here
Willy.

There are no loops on either Black or Red bass. And lenght of samples were made to play slow songs as well - slides too. Try listen to Red Bass demo 2 - hardly a fast track?

Ah man. I really wish I would have known that this was coming when I bought Black Bass. Don't get me wrong. I do like Black Bass. But the slap 'n fingered is more in the style that I use. I would have waited for this one instead.
Oh well.

Oh, no doubt it will. Don't get me wrong. I do like my Black Bass and will use it. I just would have had a better fit with Red Bass in comparison. I like the scripts in Black Bass and chose it because of that as opposed to SNF because I've always been bad at programming bass and BB finally let me do that. It's not your fault, and that's just how it goes. So please don't take it as a dig on BB.
I'll just have to save up some money instead. Your products are first class and I appreciate the attention to detail.

they ARE lower than sustained when recorded - more than - 10 dB.AKJ wrote:one thing Thomas. It seemed to me that the hammer-on/pull-off articulations are reletively low in volume compared to sustained.
