Truepianos - no news?

Two really quick questions for Roel or anyone at TruePianos.
1) Downloaded the new test-version and for some reason the data file did not install properly. I've uninstalled and and re-installed TruePianos and no go.
2) On your site you've got multiple currency options. Since I'm Canadian the respective dollar appears to be what I should choose. However, since the US dollar option is cheaper by almost $4 plus the Canadian dollar is up around 1.03 to the US dollar, if I just switch the option to $US then I save nearly $8. You might want to update the amount to reflect the current situation (or not, just a suggestion).

Is Truepianos on OSX working? I mentioned Truepianos to a friend and he tried installing the demo several times on his Mac, but the installation keeps failing. Anyone else have problems like this?

I like the new module too. As well I think the Emerald module sounds better in the 1.02 player than it did before. Roel, some improvements there to help Emerald?
I'm still looking forward to some new modules, however, that have more "character".

Still I like the Diamond module the best, especially because of the sustain.
But the new module is also useful for some special types of music.

Hi,
1) Are you on Mac or Windows ? If you are on Windows you possibly have faulty RAM in your PC. In that case test your RAM using using memtest86 (http://www.memtest.org/). If no errors are reported after at least 1 hour of testing contact us using the support form on the website.
2) Currently the price is based on 180 USD and Plimus the company that deals with handling payments for us defines the exchange rates based on official numbers used also by Skype/American Express etc. The only thing we can change is the 'base' currency. We've however been thinking for quite some time of switching to Euros (we're in the Euro zone) to correct for the decline of last years Dollar value. Sooner or later this will happen if the current Dollar/Euro trend continues. So right now TruePianos is lower priced than originally intended by a margin of around 25$.

Hi,
With most engine updates some changes are made to internal processing which can influence existing modules. Some processes were 'synced' in the v1.02 engine so it could be that there is a slight change (more punch ?) in the sound in some cases.
There were lot's of minor changes and not all changes are described to the public. E.g. the MIDI channel selector in the standalone version is not mentioned in the official changelist since it's just a minor detail. Same for the subtle pedal sound in Sapphire when pressing the sustain pedal.
So yes these things can happen from time to time.

Hi,
It could be a user/account policy issue. I'm not sure as I'm not a Mac person. It should however be working fine as we've had the v1.0.2 engine and installer in betatesting for 2-3 months and all known bugs were ironed out.
I'd suggest your friend to use the support form on our website so that he can get an appropriate solution from the person on our team who deals with Mac OS X tech support questions.

I've a question concerning sympathetic resonance. Actually you can easily test if the implementation of this feature is correct: just press and hold a key very slowly, without triggering a tone and hit another key near of it in staccato. While the sound of this staccato note disappears quickly, the string resonance of the held key is still audible because of the lifted damper. This works with all real pianos as well, but with Truepianos I don't hear anything. Why is that?

The reason for this was mainly CPU usage when we launched TruePianos. We are however working on very much improved sympathetic resonance for TruePianos v2.0.
With the launch of TruePianos v1.0 we mainly intended to release a very playable nice sounding and very usable piano instrument. Absolute realism was never our aim. While working towards TruePianos v2.0 acoustic realism is a major part of the roadmap and v1.x updates in the coming months will slowly have some of those features made available early.

I just installed the demo but the Sapphire module doesn't seem to have been installed? Any ideas? Checking the "About" information it is confirmed as 1.02.
