P.S.
Doesn't the "techno" in those boxes rely on their parameters being tweaked. What about velocity, accent, swing, slide etc.... What good are samples?
Aren't there already two Polish devs making acclaimed remakes?
Rhetorical questions, no need to respond.

Ok, its time to reply…
If you have worked with the real boxes, you may feel that the real stuff sounds better, right?
It has nothing to do with AD/DA converters or bitrates/MHZ etc. it's the continuous movement of the sound that makes the biggest difference and also the timing of the sequencer in the hardware boxes, especially when you compare the swing of a 909 or the "swing" of Cubase SX...
There is a big reason for many club/dance producers to keep the real thing and if they don't have it, buy it for a huge amount of money on EBay…
We are going to release a library that has the organic flow of the real analogue machines when it comes to the sound, and groove!
The library will be in K2 and Battery 3 +Rx2 (for the groove…) format and it will be inexpensive!
A combination of multisampled single sound with round robin technique and Rx2 grooves is the concept.
Best regards,
The Precisionsound Team
PS! No sound treatment of the samples at all, just straight into the DAW trough high quality AD/DA at 24/44.1 for you to alter as your song/re-mix demands.

Out of interest, which converters do you use?

Hi. Can you tell us how this round robin is working. Will this work for any sampler or what ? Sounds interesting but i di not find so much info. Something similar like dynamic convolution

For this project we will use the trusty old EGoSys (ESI) Wamirack 24 soundcard.living sounds wrote:Out of interest, which converters do you use?

Each sound in the real boxes sounds slightly different for every trig and that means that we are recording all sound ## number of times and this samples are triggering at random in the sampler so you need a sampleplayer supporting this technique like the once mentioned above.kmonkey wrote:Hi. I found AIR909 (free) recently. Great and fun 909 emulation ! Possibility to save in WAV.

Screw that. Buy energyXT2 and download The I-Hope-You-Like-Drum-Machines XTS Collection. It's all you'll ever need for drum machine samples.

On my 909 the other sounds also do it.dirty oscillators wrote:only the analog generated parts in the 909 do this - the kick snare and toms.precisionsound wrote:Each sound in the real boxes sounds slightly different for every trig
The clap and rimshot are both analogue.
The hats, crash and ride are digital waveforms ran through analogue filters and amps. The envelopes are also analogue giving imperfect timings.
