@Jeff: Re your problem: Try to check "Allow program editing" in the "Additional Channel Settings" menu (top left corner of the wrapper windows - the little arrow next to the folder icon)

@RunBeerRun: You could save 1 or 2% CPU by switching FX off, but not more. On my system I'm on moderate 8% CPU (up to 4 voices)

Nice synth but getting major crashes in Ableton Live with the following error:

"An attempted read or write to/from an address to which that process isn't allowed, Line : -1, Module : OnError line support disabled."

I always turn the effects off, unless I play slowly it's not going to work without a monophonic mode.

New Version 1.02

There is a new version available at the KVR DC download page.

Those of you who had problems with Ableton Live please re-check using this version and tell me how it works.

So far the instrument has been tested using the following hosts:
- Tracktion
- FL Studio
- Orion Platinum
- Energy XT 2

You could help further development by reporting on which host the instrument works/not works either here or using my mail address (shown at the instruments info-screen)

If someone feels like sharing patches or doing tests on various hosts, feel free to contact (PM) me. You will be added to my 'V.I.P'-list and get early versions of my upcoming PitchBlack 2 development

Changes:
- Knobs and sliders did not move when remote-controlled through VST automation
- Lots of internal variables have been shown as automatable
- a little selector bug was fixed
- tries to fix some issues when used within Ableton Live
- one or two (or maybe three) new patches (sorry couldn't resist playing around)

Hi,

I tested it with my athlon xp 2000, the CPU use is too high with some presets, it may freeze the host!!!

Can you limit the voices for slow computers ?

And your presets are too FX ambient for me but this synthesizer is a good alternative to replace a FM synthesizer.

I've gotten it to load successfully in FL Studio once. The CPU hit was pretty high, but it sounded good. Now, whenever I try to load it FL Studio hangs and hovers between 95-100% CPU usage

- 2.4ghz P4 , 1024mb RAM, crappy SBLive sound card

edit: it finally loaded, just took about 5 minutes

This vst is to energy hungry. It takes a lot time to load the vst and after it got loaded the host get unstable. Is this a bug? My software i do music is the great ACID.

thanks for the feedback. CPU optimization is on the todo list. For the next releases the spectrum knob will be used to shut down unneeded "sections" of the shaper. Maybe there is also a little denormal problem somewhere. Will go hunting... My dual-core CPU seems to be much less sensible to these things (6 secs loading time in FL studio, 8-10%CPU with 4 voices)
