How do you make full instrumentations?

It depends on the music you're working on. I'm doing a lot of pop at the moment (check my website), so the lead vocal and the snare are the most important elements. In your top post you mention you're making electronic dance music, so starting (as you do) with the lead synth and the kick is certainly reasonable, and probably a good approach.Leeate wrote:I've read your post.

HARMONICALLY > the bass is going to produce the greater amt of overtones. the rest of what one does is going to have to contend with this fact. if you do not start with bass, and you don't have a lot of experience manipulating sound, you are setting yourself up for trouble.
