Hey-

Is there any danger in disconnecting a midi controller [Yamaha P-70] from a mixer [Yamaha 01v96v2] while both are powered on?

I know sometimes they recommend installing software with midi not connected, etc.. so i didnt know if a surge of power could damage either devices. If it matters, I dont think either the controller or the mixer have hard drives, but im not 100% on that. Also, the mixer was not monitoring the midi port, I was in Nuendo.. but no project was open.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

That should be OK. People do it all the time.
Midi is designed for hot-plugging afaik.
