Modest Mouse-- The Lonesome Crowded West (or something like that... just bought it, can't remember the title).

I can see why people like it. For me, the newer janglier stuff holds more appeal. I'll see if it'll grow on me; that's my favourite... having albums grow on you.

It's fund-raising time at our local National Public Radio affiliate, so the music is mostly generic. They even played Pachelbel's Canon in D yesterday; how cliché! But in early afternoons they tend to play film scores and show music.

Last hour: soundtrack to The Last of the Mohicans.

This hour: tunes from the soundtracks to the Harry Potter movies.
