I bought a pod 2.0 a couple of weeks ago and was pretty impressed with it.
Is it worth considering dumping this in favour of the XT or pro ?

I have a 2.0 and xt live and getting xt was indeed a good thing for me, you might also look at the new one though. The bottom line is everyone will come in here and tell you what PODs can't do for them, the truth is what matters is what it can do for you. I would suggest trying the new one and an xt at a store and see if there are new things that benefit you. My guess is there will be, but it is truly subjectve. You might also want to demo other similar units as one of those my be benficial. One good thing about xts right now is that with the newest POD coming out you might find some good deals on xts.venerable bede wrote:I bought a pod 2.0 a couple of weeks ago and was pretty impressed with it.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Yeah, there it is on their product page. It seems to be recycling the same models yet again, touting the dual-routing as the new way to get rich complex tones. If that's the case, they need to jump back into modeling research at some point in time and develop new modeling technology instead of just repackaging their tech.

is the pod still the best option for HARDWARE amp sims though? I'm going to need something of that sort for playing live...

I've tried every hardware modeller out there (well, at least all the sub-$500 ones) and the Pod XT Live has been the best sounding one for me.
