midi footcontroller for controlling multiple guitar progs?

Is there a midi footcontroller that would allow me to use something like guitar rig, amplitube, reaktor, timewArp, etc... something where i could run the guitar through several different programs? not necessarily simultaneously, but if i had different patches for each, could i use them separately?

i like guitar rig, the rig kontrol is cool, but i wish you could program it to activate other programs, like pitch to midi software or plate reverb IR's.
