Winamp update makes sample browsing more easy

I find the latest update of Winamp makes Winamp start up MUCH quicker. Really, like almost instantly. I use Windows XP.


IMO this makes it a much more useful tool for plain sample browsing in Windows explorer than it used to be.


I experimented a lot with different (free) solutions, like samplecatalog and the demo of audiospace. I was never completely satisfied.
The nice thing for example with winamp is that it plays 24 bit samples well.

Just play and browse around with the keybord arrows and ENTER
(Or use HOTKEYS to make some key act as 'double click', play a sample by pointing with the mouse to it and press your programmed key.)

FL lets you browse and audition samples, but annoyingly won't let you perform standard explorer file operations on them.

I might give Winamp another try.
