New eSoundz Downloadable section

To answer to MCDM I decided to open a fresh new thread about the new downloads at eSoundz... if you have suggestions, or if you have any problems, please write here.



As you may have noticed, the downloadable section here http://www.esoundz.com/downloads.php is a new thing that many people have been waiting for. It is finally here but we're eager to hear your feedback.

Here is what is NEW :
- bargain bin, everything that cost less than $5 is in the Bargain bin. You can switch the bargain bin on or off. In every shop you have a bargain place where you can find good things for cheap, this is the idea.
- Full cd/dvd DOWNLOADS. With this new option, eSoundz has become one of the best best sources of legal downloadable sounds online with more than 80 GB of sounds, ranging from a single individual loop to a full DVD! We have ALL our CD/DVD in download now, including the Capsules, the Rex Paks and Studio Profile Special Edition and more... almost all of our new products will be sooner or later online in a downloadable format.
- you can switch from an icon view to a more optimized list view anytime.
- you can filter in various ways, that means that everytime you use a filter, it displays only the available possibilities. You can find something very quickly without being stuck in some empty sections...
- we try to have a sound demo for each sound... but I agree that this must be improved, we need to fully check each demo and create more at this time...we're also open to using demos from users and if you turn one in we'll give you epointz whether we use it or not!
- more formats, we have now support for Wusik, Kontakt, Soundfont, Giga.

I'm also working on Loop Club and soon, we will have each loop we have ever created in individual download, along with its sound demo!

This system is very powerful and we will add more previously unreleased new sounds in the future.

The idea is to provide a single place where your sounds are forever. If your HD crashes, if you are in a friend's studio, you still can download them quickly from our fast and reliable server.

What a lot of work you've been doing to get all this set up! It puts in perspective the vast amount of stuff eSoundz has put together!

I'm curious, will there be a way for us to access things we've purchased on disks, as a back up, too?

eg,,, I have the Complete Sonik Capsules set, will I be able to get the SF versions online??

Seems we have the same favorite place to shop,,,

I thought about it and it is technically possible. I'll have to ask to Squids, but I think it make sense. I'll reply in this thread if something moves in this direction.

One thing I liked about the old downloads section was that it told you exactly which disc a sound came from. For example, I purchased a number of ST sounds off of the Squids Tron disc last month and had intended to purchase more this month. However, they now show as "This downloadable product is a selection of sounds taken from: Expansion Tanks" which makes it impossible to tell them apart from other discs.

Also, it looks as though the prices of the instruments have increased across the board. (I randomly compared against my old orders and they are all increased).

Might have worked it out. None of the sounds I've checked so far show a members discount anymore. Is this intentional?

About Sonic Tron, if you go in the downloadable section,
1- select the Expansion tank serie
3- select the sonic tron sub serie
you have 73 answers.

Then you can choose a soundpak (group of sounds together, a full CD/DVD or an individual instrument.
I don't know if I answer to your question. The new interface keeps the same info as the old one, but is more accurate and you can browse and find anything in 3 clicks.

The sounds have the same name, so you can simply see if you have already purchased this file or not.

About the price, the old sounds should be at the same price, maybe little sounds that cost almost nothing (-$10) does not have member rebate, but it is not intentionnal.

Some new sounds have their prices that matches their size because we their inclusion in the database is semi automatic.

For the downlodable equivalent of a physical product the price is the same.

If you have a specific example that will help me to see if the prices have been changed by error, if it is the case, I'll fix it.

Hi Nikko, I hadn't noticed the Sub Series link before but that looks cool. However the prices are an awful lot higher than my previous orders.

I've just randomly checked one of my orders where I originally paid $65.77 for a bunch of sounds, the same instruments would now cost me $125.77! Each and every instrument is a higher price, in two cases rising from $4.99 to $11.99!

I've seen you order, and you are right that some files (1.99 bucks) have been raised to 3.99.
You should have purchased more at this time...

3.99 is still nothing for some high quality optimized and looped samples.
Everybody should rush before we change the prices to 5.99 lol (joke we will not do that, but well you can rush to buy anyway)

Just an example, the Chimering Steinway is an Amazing piano, very highly optimized and it costs 10x time less than most pianos samples that sometime do not sounds as good...there are still some bargains ...

3.99 for a multisampled instruments is not expensive if you consider that you absolutely need this one.
Otherwise you still can buy a full Capsule or Expansion Tank for 59 to 79 bucks.

Just on example, can you believe the price of the Miroslav refills? 79 buck for one of the best and warm strings ever!

But you are right that we should consider to have a reward system for the long time supporting members.

Fortunately, I pretty much did buy all the 1.99 files at the time But like I say, it's not just those which have raised in price, ALL of them are higher now.

In the meaan time you are right that we should consider to have a reward system for the long time supporting members.

BTW, any word on whether we'll be able to download SFZ's of Capsules we own?

We already talk with Squids and we are going to offer the downloadble version of all physical products you bought from Sonic Reality for a very low fee.
We can't offer them for free, otherwise everyone will buy the physical product and we will not sell any downloads... this is not what we want. Same thing if you got the dowloadable and you want to buy the CD (if we still have the product in stock...).

What do you think about $10 flat rate or 10% of the price?

We are also going to give some exclusive promotions to the ones who bought a specific product. For example you got the Capsule Electric Guitar, we may give you an exclusive special price for the Capsules Nylon guitars. This will become very interesting in the future with the huge number of new products we are going to release.

Imagine in your member's page you will have a list of really insteresting prices for products related to what you like according to your previous purchases. These promotions will be personlized...

But do not expect to get this done before one or two months. If you have lost your capsule and want to buy the downloadable product, contact Allen and we will do a special price.


We have a lot of things to do... like doing a huge update to Loop club, with most loops we have made, now available for purchase and listen online (around 13.000). We have already processed all the sounds, and tagged all the demo... it should work in 2 weeks.
