July 8th, 2005: (Regarding Squids Tron Vol. 2)

We have the material, it just need to be finished being worked on. We haven't touched it yet. I sure would like to have it myself! So, we'll work on it next month perhaps. I also have a few other ideas in mind..

We do have a volume 2 in the works.

Feb. 24th, 2006:

Maybe we'll even do a group buy on it again. Perhaps in the next month or so! Let's see. If there is interest then... why not?

But, if it was really wanted we could possibly step this one up for March. Are ya ready or should we wait?

Here's what I am thinking. The new version of Squids Tron Vol. 1 is now on a DVD instead of 4 discs. We can fit a few more formats on there as well soon for people that join the Squids Tron Vol. 2 Group Buy that will happen either in March or April.

We don't want to start the group buy and make people wait too long

We have someone specializing in preparing this material and also I am running off some tapes in the background while I work. It is a long process to go through this stuff but a lot of fun because there are some real gems! It looks like April/May time perhaps that this will be available.

Okay. We'll do it next year. But, actually we're doing a big promo with Squids Tron Vol. 1 with IK very soon so that should hopefully turn more people onto the whole concept anyway. Squids Tron 2 still needs more time anyway

January 28th, 2007:

Squids Tron Vol. 2 IS coming and there's even something else coming along the same lines as well... so TWO products in the quirky keyboard category to look forward to this year... and in the first half of this year. Exactly when I don't know yet but I will let everyone know when it is getting real close.

February 1st, 2007:

We'll have it available soon at least in ST format.

IK Multimedia and Sonic Reality are proud to announce their latest collaborative effort, Sonik Instruments, a series of virtual instrument plug-ins dedicated to focused collections of rare and top-of-the-line instruments and sounds. The first announced of this series are SampleMoog, SampleTron, and Studiophonik.

Sonik Instruments will be available during the second quarter of 2007.

Meanwhile, SampleTron and Studiophonik are not that far away from release! I mean in a few months or so...

There's no more SampleTank 2 LE. So, Squids Tron 2 is incorporated into SampleTron.

April 6th, 2007:

I met him just before their performance at the Grammys and gave him an early version of SampleTron.

In a way, it's about time there was a quirky vintage keyboard/tron plug-in that could be programmed and produced with effects. We should have done it a long time ago. But, anyway, it will be here in a few months.

Prices will be announced when released which will be soon.

June 7th, 2007:

As for when, it will be some time this Summer. SampleMoog will be first I believe then Studiophonik and then SampleTron.

These things take time! Better to go the extra mile to make something special, rather than rush it and have just another ordinary product. I mean, these plugins stay in people's virtual racks for YEARS!

Well, not only do they take time but things get shifted around. We haulted on Squids Tron 2 because of SampleTron and we wanted to base all of the Sonik Instruments on the SampleTank 2.5 engine which only recently came out. So, in the meantime we have dozens of other products we've also worked on. It HAS sort of bottle necked though and we're going to be releasing many at once. But that's just the way it goes.

Meanwhile, SampleMoog IS finally released and SampleTron and Studiophonik ARE in fact nearing their completion. I am VERY happy with the way they came out. With Studiophonik we ended up going to the extra mile even though it cost us quite a bit more to do it... you'll see what I mean.

But, anyway, thanks for your patience. It will be worth it! But get SampleMoog in the meantime!!! It's really fantastic. That was a lot of collecting, sampling and programming for SR and IK. It's a great synth!

I need to hire some more Reason programmers though... there are a lot of refills I want to do especially as downloadable sounds on www.esoundz.com

Thanks. Yes, all the pieces were done just with Squids Tron V1. I did those demos. To be honest I LOVE doing demos (it's making music! doesn't get any more fun) but I don't always have the time to do them so it gets spread around. However, with the trons I just couldn't resist. I'll be doing more demos next year though. Actually there's even more to that topic but I better zip it until the time comes but there's a very interesting surprise coming relating to music with SR sounds. I think 2008 is going to be our best year for everything that we have going on both musically and with sounds/software.

hmmm ... does that mean there could eventually be a Kontakt version of Trons?



I'd love to go for it, but I really couldn't get into Sampletank everytime I demoed it.
