Yeh I don't mean to be too negative, but I kind of don't care much for their brand of 'coverage'. Not to rip on the gents over there too much, cause in the end it's free space for us that participate, but this year seems to be the same as last year really, except for the few favorites of the staff no one gets a particular lot of attention, just their slot on the disc.

I guess it's the inconsistency that bugs me is all, you have folks saying that this is one of the biggest things to happen in the software plugin world, and yet other places put it on the back burner for importance.

money is the only "thing happening in the s/w world" ......to some

..look how many people come to kvr looking for s/w, saying "should i get this?" w/ a list of commercial plugs.. you practically have to drop tackle them to get them to try freeware.

not worth being bitter about, a reason to improve

hang about a few years.

Yeh, Mr. Tim Cant sent the PDF to all the devs I believe. At least that's where I got it from.

I worked several months on my entry and I'm just inside a DVD list.

yeah,it's not mentioned on the cover,on the contents page or even on the dvd cover(front or back)!
you'd hardly know it was there at all.
they would have sold more copies if it had marked a bit clearer,there's 41 devs all with friends and supporters who would be waiting for this to come out.
if i didn't get it delivered,i'd have missed it.
still,word might get around.it's still a big distribution. thanks for that guys!
and congrats to the peeps who got pics and stuff.

Yes, that's unfortunate. I wonder how this will tip the results, since it still is a big distribution, as Spacedad mentionned.
But everybody believed that the challenge would be finished by now. Which brings me to the next question(s): why has it been extended by the way? And why no information until when? Or did I miss something?

----I doubt N.I. and all the other software companies who advertise in those magazines want them even mentioning the concept of "freeware", that's not good for them. If anything, I'm half surprised they even mentioned the DC, surprised N.I. and the others let them at all.

ooops, I'm not sure if it's a US magazine... I think that but I can make a mistake. It's fun... I bought this magazine only one time, there was fifteen years ago, I believe.

It's not really important, the web forums are more important for the publicity of the freewares.
The users majority scearch the news about the freewares on the web forums like KVR.
