We've been working on this product for YEARS! It's gone through some changes and it was VERY VERY expensive to make but... it's almost here and it's gooooooood! I am playing it right now and some of these drum kits are absolutely incredible sounding! Real variety of character like nothing else on the market. I'll be telling you more as we go here in the final stages. SampleTron is also in its final stages but remember if you already own Squids Tron then its not that much of a surprise. You know what it is. It's mostly that with some new sounds and a cool GUI. Granted, a really cool esoteric plug-in even if you do have the Squids Tron already (and we'll have a dicounted crossgrade for you too no worries).

But the combination of SampleTron, Studiophonik and SampleTron is powerful! It's the ultimate vintage studio, producer's gear fest!!!! I love it.

Does that mean I gotta buy 2 SampleTrons (one for each hand)?

:P

So is "Studiophonik for Drums" a new instrument, or are you just talking about the amazing drums that are in Studiophonik?

I am talking about using Studiophonik for drums. It's interesting. At this point we're doing drums every which way... we've got Ocean Way Drums for the LARGEST possible drum kits with the most mixing capability and mapping for I-Map + V-Drum... but it requires a FAST hard drive with tons of room to do that. Then we have drums for BFD in the works that are also streaming size but not the same material as the Ocean Way stuff plus not as many mic channels etc. Then we have Studio ProFiles titles which are similar to that but DO have I-Map + V-Drum map elements with less mic mixing and then finally you have Studiophonik which has the EASIEST most basic mic mixing... yet the largest VARIETY of drums of ANY drum product on the market! Plus all of the built-in effects of the ST engine and TONS of patches.

So... while I DO love all of our drum products for various reasons, what I love about Studiophonik is the sheer MASS of different brands, different eras... nothing else has this! But to have it this affordable? Let's put it this way. The ONLY reason we could afford to even put something like Studiophonik OUT for anything less than thousands is because we have so many OTHER products' sessions that it pools from. Imagine that the drums sampled in Studiophonik were recorded in over 20 different studios around the world! It's taken us years to compile... I can't believe this material has never even been released! Some of it is so good it will blow your mind!!!! I mean, snares that POP and kicks that are deep (we also have an extra sub kick channel you can add in as well to any of the kits).

I am just preparing you guys. It will be ready soon and I think anyone who has been waiting for it will see why it took so long feel it was worth the wait. Anyone who is just hearing about it now is about to see one of the coolest drum products come out.

Now listen, I already realize that BFD2 and Superior are really cool too! I agree they are. But what makes this different is the sound of the engine and the sheer variety you get... it is unmatched by anything especially for under $500. Oh yeah, not to mention almost every brand of guitar and bass in there too. ;)

Any chance of posting a list one of these days of exactly what drum & percussion sounds are included? I would really love to find a good set of Octoban samples.

Are the kits going to be GM-mapped as well? I have tons of Toontrack ezDrummer-midistuff that would be cool to run through Studiophonik.
