It seems that the developer of Shortcircuit is considering it's future as a commercial product with the possibility it may become freeware.

Woah! Short circuit as freeware would be unbelievable

It would certainly get Vember Audio a lot of publicity :)

this is the best sampler i can imagine, and if this gets free, i'll instantly buy surge, pomised.
i found the resampling sounding soooo great. i really enjoyed the free version of it for long time . also the workflow is nice. a little browser for better sample browsing would not hurt (i like the one in energy xt. perfect. hit ctrl+f and type snare to get a big list with your snare sounds. and as a programmer and user for long time, i can hit that ctrl+f very fast)

very generous indeed. one question; is SC2 to be considered a 'final version', or an unfinished work-in-progress? ie would one be 'safer' sticking to SC1?

Claes, I read the thread on your forum. I understand your reasons and it's very generous, but don't you think it can be a commercial suicide ? Keep us informed if things go better from now.
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Fantastic.
Great for us who don't actually own a sampler.

Nah, commercial suicide isn't my style. I expect the sales of Surge to increase enough to make up for it.

Come on Claus - you missed an opportunity to say you were looking forward to a Surge of interest in Surge there ;) :smack: :hihi:

thankyou very much though :)

I'd recommend that you try SC2 and see what you think. Stability wise there shouldn't be any major problems. Some things aren't really finished as much as I'd like and automation is missing but other than that is should be quite fine.

Woah, now that's something to write home about, SC will maybe be freeware? Now, that's really cool, to put it mildly :).

Have to keep an eye on this thread...

Cheers!
