My new Taylor is a madman.
The dynamic range is mind-blowing.
eg quiet lyrical fingerpicking pieces suddenly now have hundreds of dBs available for the maddest most intense expression, dragging my soul out by the throat.
And this is just the beginning ... phew!
(just sharing new guitar mad shit)

A few weeks later ...
New guitar is top!
I'm finding new chords and new scales I haven't touched on before, and new music is coming out
The musical mystical adventure continues
...
So how's your new guitar treating you since you last posted in this thread?

I just sold my BC Rich Warlock IT for $50 more than I paid for it. Nice guitar, but I just don't know how that neck/body joint will hold up over time.

Its a fender big tex. there are 2 up for auction right now. I like the cheese factor of it, esp the MOP cactus on the 12th fret.

Nope, but I did just snap an E string. Need to go get another pack, I want to change gauge anyways.

if i had the extra cash, i'd buy one of the 3/4 gretch cowboy guitars for my daughter. the designs on those are pretty cool. from what i understand, they sound pretty good for being so inexpensive.

I generally use Ernie Balls, for my style they're pretty much perfect. When I get some money I want to buy myself another guitar, probably another Ibanez or possibly a Tokai les paul.

I too picked up a Taylor acoustic (414) while in Calgary this summer. I had to load it on the plane back to Montreal along with the other baggage!kevvvvv wrote:I got a brand new Taylor 814ce in the post this morning.
Any Taylor owners here? Or Taylor sample owners? Or anyone bought a new guitar lately?
I've never played let alone owned a decent acoustic. I own a Les Paul and a hand made in Spain classical guitar. But the Taylor is just magic. It oozes of quality and I'm always inspired when I play it.
But I dented the guitar when a battery fell from my shirt pocket when I bent over to put it back in its case on Christmas day
