Can anyone recommend a good basic soundcard to work with cubase sx3. I have a tower nvidia mb, pci slots.I need a stereo into cubase and thats it apart from good asio.

Echo Gina3G is pretty good.

The default excellent simple audio card is the M-Audio AudioPhile 2496. Mature, stable drivers (no Vista yet, I think). Good ASIO, a zillion of them have been sold, so you can usually get help here and other places on the Net if you have any problems. Has SPDIF in, as well as MIDI in and out.

I've bought from ScitScat multiple times and always had a good experience with them.

I've had my 2496 for about 5 years now, with no urge to get another.

had an obsolete Echoaudio Gina 20 ...then for less than 100 euros got a used M Audio Delta 66..
well this thing fuckin rox in terms of stability here...
its not a hyper-super-pro audio card, right, but some months before only, i was only dreaming about such stability on the audio hw side...
and yes, i use it with SX 3...
