...yes, and I was pointing out that your whining is rather pointless. And stating that you use an illegal version because they don't sell for the price you want doesn't make you look more reasonable...

...good one :D

I use the illegal version because they discriminate!

No, unfortunately it's only for non-commercial productions. :(
I've spoken with local italian distributor of Steinberg's software and they said that the 'education' EULA is the same as the 'non-education', so it allows commercial use of the software and it's only a discount on the purchase price.

The educational license applies also to teachers.

...fair enough - you've made a strong point here, kiddo - and I'm sure it's gonna hurt Steinberg in the bottom of their hearts. Now go somewhere else and beg for attention...

Strange as finnish distributor clearly said that commercial usage is forbidden and consequently that was reason why I didn't bought license at that time (not that I'm likely to make money with software but who knows )

Steinberg should clearly state on their website what differences are if there are any :x

Please don't kid yourself with respect to posting on a phpBB forum. I'm a moderator on another Steinberg forum and, with respect to blatant piracy self admission, your IP address and ISP are visible to admins and moderators.

Talk like that will get you banned.

Hi 2121
I am from Europe as well as you and I have an educational version of C4 studio... It wasn't easy because the school director didn't want to sign my form. (As I look to him, he doesn't even read english, so-so..)
But I can confirm that you SHOULD get an edu version not depending on what you study (Im learning in a polytechnic school)

Hi mate, thanks... too bad the companies don't care when customers are being discriminated, even the company reps just care to ban people and make fun of :( thats why i was talking about the illegal version! They don't care, i don't care! This all started because i wanted to BUY the original version (educational, that i have the RIGHT to buy) thanks!

Anyway, the educational verion doesn't just mean a price-cut. In the licence control center, for example, it displays "Cubase 4 studio educational". And the box also contains some paper about music education, so maybe your distributor doesn't handle this version. Or they don't get from it...

Now i can see you are told that you should study music. Well, maybe try to look for the Steinberg statement that states that this limitation is no longer valid and show them. Maybe..

Thanks, i have tried international stores like thomann.de or musicstore.de ... no luck, i'll get the "free version" and hope that steinberg does something about it, when all customers are treated equally i will be the first one to buy cubase! As i have seen in this board, steinberg costumer support sucks :(

Thanks :)
